HOTSPOTS 1/31/11 - The Winds of 2011

Venezuela (Security threat level - 4): On 30 January 2011 a series of powerful explosions occurred at a military arms depot in Maracay, located approximately 60 mi/100 km west of Caracas. At least one person was killed and approximately 10,000 residents were forced to flee their homes as authorities and fire crews worked to contain the aftermath of the incident. As of 31 January reports indicate that the situation has been brought mostly under control, but authorities continue to advise residents not to return to their homes. The cause of the explosions remains unknown at this time; authorities have not ruled out sabotage.
Note: I vote for sabotage

Bangladesh (Security threat level - 4): On 31 January 2011 thousands of demonstrators gathered in Munshiganj district on the outskirts of Dhaka to protest the planned construction of a new international airport in this location, which residents claim is unnecessary. The demonstration quickly turned violent, with protesters setting fire to a police camp and barricading roads near the proposed airport site. Police responded with teargas and rubber bullets in an attempt to disperse the protesters. At least one police officer was killed and 50 officers and protesters were injured. Further protests are likely in the coming days and weeks, as officials have insisted that the planned construction of the new airport will go ahead.

South Carolina scientist works to grow meat in lab

By Harriet McLeod Harriet Mcleod Sun Jan 30, 10:00 am ET

CHARLESTON, South Carolina (Reuters) – In a small laboratory on an upper floor of the basic science building at the Medical University of South Carolina, Vladimir Mironov, M.D., Ph.D., has been working for a decade to grow meat.

A developmental biologist and tissue engineer, Dr. Mironov, 56, is one of only a few scientists worldwide involved in bioengineering "cultured" meat.

It's a product he believes could help solve future global food crises resulting from shrinking amounts of land available for growing meat the old-fashioned way ... on the hoof.

Growth of "in-vitro" or cultured meat is also under way in the Netherlands, Mironov told Reuters in an interview, but in the United States, it is science in search of funding and demand.

The new National Institute of Food and Agriculture, part of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, won't fund it, the National Institutes of Health won't fund it, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration funded it only briefly, Mironov said.

"It's classic disruptive technology," Mironov said. "Bringing any new technology on the market, average, costs $1 billion. We don't even have $1 million."

Director of the Advanced Tissue Biofabrication Center in the Department of Regenerative Medicine and Cell Biology at the medical university, Mironov now primarily conducts research on tissue engineering, or growing, of human organs.

"There's a yuck factor when people find out meat is grown in a lab. They don't like to associate technology with food," said Nicholas Genovese, 32, a visiting scholar in cancer cell biology working under a People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals three-year grant to run Dr. Mironov's meat-growing lab.

"But there are a lot of products that we eat today that are considered natural that are produced in a similar manner," Genovese said.

"There's yogurt, which is cultured yeast. You have wine production and beer production. These were not produced in laboratories. Society has accepted these products."

If wine is produced in winery, beer in a brewery and bread in a bakery, where are you going to grow cultured meat?

In a "carnery," if Mironov has his way. That is the name he has given future production facilities.

He envisions football field-sized buildings filled with large bioreactors, or bioreactors the size of a coffee machine in grocery stores, to manufacture what he calls "charlem" -- "Charleston engineered meat."

"It will be functional, natural, designed food," Mironov said. "How do you want it to taste? You want a little bit of fat, you want pork, you want lamb? We design exactly what you want. We can design texture.

"I believe we can do it without genes. But there is no evidence that if you add genes the quality of food will somehow suffer. Genetically modified food is already normal practice and nobody dies."

Dr. Mironov has taken myoblasts -- embryonic cells that develop into muscle tissue -- from turkey and bathed them in a nutrient bath of bovine serum on a scaffold made of chitosan (a common polymer found in nature) to grow animal skeletal muscle tissue. But how do you get that juicy, meaty quality?

Genovese said scientists want to add fat. And adding a vascular system so that interior cells can receive oxygen will enable the growth of steak, say, instead of just thin strips of muscle tissue.

Cultured meat could eventually become cheaper than what Genovese called the heavily subsidized production of farm meat, he said, and if the public accepts cultured meat, the future holds benefits.

"Thirty percent of the earth's land surface area is associated with producing animal protein on farms," Genovese said.

"Animals require between 3 and 8 pounds of nutrient to make 1 pound of meat. It's fairly inefficient. Animals consume food and produce waste. Cultured meat doesn't have a digestive system.

"Further out, if we have interplanetary exploration, people will need to produce food in space and you can't take a cow with you.

"We have to look to these ideas in order to progress. Otherwise, we stay static. I mean, 15 years ago who could have imagined the iPhone?"

Chinese Regime Blocks ‘Egypt’ Internet Search

From the Epoch Times

The word “Egypt” suddenly became a sensitive word on the Internet in China Friday. The word was blocked on all the main search engines in China, including the popular micro-blogging site, Sina.

Some reports say the ban was lifted sometime Saturday. But an AP report said searchers on Sina typing in “Egypt” on Friday were greeted with a message saying, “According to relevant laws, regulations and policies, the search results are not shown.”

Hungary (Security threat level - 2): Thousands of people took to the streets of Budapest on 27 January 2011 in another protest against a controversial media law adopted in mid-December 2010. Demonstrators gathered in front of the Parliament building, holding banners and calling for the repeal of the law, which has drawn nationwide and international criticism. There were no reports of violence during this incident. The new media law restricts media content and allows authorities to oversee and fine providers for content judged to be unbalanced, offensive or immoral. The most recent protest is the second substantial demonstration in the capital in recent weeks in response to the media law.

_______________________________HAITI ALERT _______________________________

Dominican Republic (Security threat level - 3): On 26 January 2011 the police chief in Santo Domingo announced that more than 13,000 additional police officers will be stationed in the streets of the city in anticipation of protests over fuel and food staple price increases. The Alternative Social Forum (ASF) has announced several demonstrations that are intended to be peaceful but carry a risk of violence. As part of the planned protests, transport workers went on strike in Santo Domingo, bringing all bus traffic to a stop and leaving passengers stranded. One bus operator, Caribe Tours, did not take part in the strike, but the striking workers blocked the Caribe Tours buses and forced them to turn around. Thus far the protests have been relatively peaceful but they may turn violent without warning. Travelers should avoid Santo Domingo in the coming days.

American Cowards

COTO Readers -- I am posting this piece for the purpose of getting people Thinking about the abridgment of Freedoms here in the "Land of the Free". Wow! I just typed that, and it strikes me how far the US of A has strayed from it's core principles and Constitution. Amazing times we live in.

Back to point > this is an email I received from noted Silver guru Jason Hommel. There are items in here that are controversial, and he uses Biblical Scripture trying to make a point. Simply read it for content and consideration, and read it according to your own understanding of Life Here on Earth, and in America in particular. I am not going to edit it, because I don't have the time at 11:15pm tonight. BUT -- there are some very Strong points he makes, and "Laws on the Books" that are useful to us all. He's also promoting his silver business. Don't be offended. Buy some silver, somewhere, and you will have made a smart move.

Anyways, I am hoping the COTO readers will particularly reflect on the "points of law" and citizenship, and Rights which we here in America possess yet seldom use {as in pushing the envelope}. Let her fly with your responses! We can surely see that old American homilies like "Home of the Brave", or "Land of the Free" are fast becoming impotent old relics of a past age. Only by considering what our Rights truly are, and embracing them (i.e. using them) will we retain them in the face of fascism.

US fury over UN expert's 9/11 'cover-up' claims

US fury over UN expert's 9/11 'cover-up' claims
(AFP) – 12 hours ago

UNITED NATIONS — The United States on Tuesday demanded the sacking of a UN human rights expert for "noxious" comments claiming there had been a US cover-up over the September 11 attacks.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon condemned the comments by Richard Falk, UN special rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories, as "an affront" to the victims of the 2001 Al-Qaeda attacks on New York and Washington.

The US ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, called Falk's views "despicable and deeply offensive" and said she had registered a protest and called for his dismissal.

[MONTGOMERY, Ala. – An Alabama law firm claims in a lawsuit that Taco Bell is using false advertising when it refers to using "seasoned ground beef" or "seasoned beef" in its products.

The meat mixture sold by Taco Bell restaurants contains binders and extenders and does not meet the minimum requirements set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to be labeled as "beef," according to the legal complaint.

The class-action lawsuit was filed Friday in federal court in the Central District of California by the Montgomery law firm Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles.

Attorney Dee Miles said attorneys had Taco Bell's "meat mixture" tested and found it contained less that 35 percent beef.

The lawsuit on behalf of Taco Bell customer and California resident Amanda Obney does not seek monetary damages, but asks the court to order Taco Bell to be honest in its advertising.

"We are asking that they stop saying that they are selling beef," Miles said.

Irvine, Calif.-based Taco Bell spokesman Rob Poetsch (PAYCH) said the company denies that its advertising is misleading.

"Taco Bell prides itself on serving high quality Mexican inspired food with great value. We're happy that the millions of customers we serve every week agree," Poetsch said. He said the company would "vigorously defend the suit."

The lawsuit says that Taco Bell's "seasoned beef" contains other ingredients, including water, wheat oats, soy lecithin, maltodrextrin, anti-dusting agent and modified corn starch."]

There was never a BP Gulf of Mexico oil spill in 2010. When you fill a glass with water, bump into something while holding it in your hand, and then some of the water splashes out, that’s a spill. When you turn on a water faucet and allow a continual flow to fill the glass so that it’s constantly overflowing, that’s not a spill.

Austerity In America: 22 Signs That It Is Already Here And That It Is Going To Be Very Painful

The Economic Collapse

[caption id="attachment_12624" align="aligncenter" width="400" caption="Try the "Poor" Diet Plan"][/caption]

Over the past couple of years, most Americans have shown little concern as austerity measures were imposed on financially troubled nations across Europe. Even as austerity riots erupted in nations such as Greece and Spain, most Americans were still convinced that nothing like that could ever happen here. Well, guess what? Austerity has arrived in America. At this point, it is not a formal, mandated austerity like we have seen in Europe, but the results are just the same. Taxes are going up, services are being slashed dramatically, thousands of state and city employees are being laid off, and politicians seem to be endlessly talking about ways to make even deeper budget cuts. Unfortunately, even with the incredibly severe budget cuts that we have seen already, many state and local governments across the United States are still facing a sea of red ink as far as the eye can see.

Cheney Sets History Straight

The following is a little tirade I left of USA Today's forum, (one of which I've found to be rather liberal in allowing comments) about Cheney's book tour. Of course all of this is old hat to the folks here, but I thought I'd share what I've been dropping on the sheeple.

"And if it meant I had to break some china to get the job done," he (Cheney) said, "I did it."

Here's the "china" Cheney, and the rest of these cutthroats "broke."

Let's leave out that no where in the Constitution does it say suspend the Constitution in order to "get the job done."

Using "getting the job done," as an excuse for breaking the law is the very reason the Constitution was written, you can't use the excuse of defending it by ignoring it - you just can't do that. It's like a wife-beater using the excuse that if he stopped beating her, she'll leave him and getting off.

But its worse, much worse than just Cheney using the totally lame and illegal excuse for breaking the law. If it were just that I could almost forgive him. But one must remember that this man that seems to have no problem acting the "tough guy" has actually never come close to fighting in any kind of conflict, and received 5 deferments, claiming " ... he had other things to do with his time ..." (quote), all the while he had no problem sending thousands off to die, and kill millions more.

So there really is no forgiveness. But as mentioned - it gets worse.

Six Degrees of Assassination

Six Degrees of Occult Separation - video

"Earning the trust of the United States Secret Service is no easy feat. But, in this video, you'll hear how "60 Minutes" correspondent Scott Pelley and producer Bill Owens convinced the agency to share its definitive research on the minds of assassins and school shooters.

As Pelley tells "60 Minutes Overtime" editor Ann Silvio, he and and Owens followed the research for more than a decade, producing several reports with rare interview footage of shooters and would-be assassins speaking from prisons and mental institutions across the country.

Within hours of the assassination attempt on Congresswoman Giffords, the authors of the Secret Service study were in touch with the "60 Minutes" team again. As details about alleged shooter Jared Loughner emerged, it appeared that his actions before the attack followed an all-too familiar path to violence."

Dollars for Docs ~What Drug Companies are Paying Your Doctor

Drug companies have long kept secret details of the payments they make to doctors for promoting their drugs. But seven companies have begun posting names and compensation on the Web, some as the result of legal settlements. ProPublica compiled these disclosures, totaling $295 million, into a single database that allows patients to search for their doctor. Receiving payments isn’t necessarily wrong, but it does raise ethical issues.

Dr. Tom Termotto

It is with deep regret that we publish this report. We do not take this responsibility lightly, as the consequences of the following observations are of such great import and have such far-reaching ramifications for the entire planet. Truly, the fate of the oceans of the world hangs in the balance, as does the future of humankind.
The Gulf of Mexico (GOM) does not exist in isolation and is, in fact, connected to the Seven Seas. Hence, we publish these findings in order that the world community will come together to further contemplate this dire and demanding predicament. We also do so with the hope that an appropriate global response will be formulated, and acted upon, for the sake of future generations. It is the most basic responsibility for every civilization to leave their world in a better condition than that which they inherited from their forbears.

After conducting the Gulf Oil Spill Remediation Conference for over seven months, we can now disseminate the following information with the authority and confidence of those who have thoroughly investigated a crime scene. There are many research articles, investigative reports and penetrating exposes archived at the following website. Particularly those posted from August through November provide a unique body of evidence, many with compelling photo-documentaries, which portray the true state of affairs at the Macondo Prospect in the GOM...

Marti Oakley Lays Out The Coming Food Shortage

In a nutshell.

Committee Hotspots 1/18/11

Mexico (Country threat level - 4): On 17 January 2011 rival gang members clashed in front of a convenience store in Monterrey. Six people were killed, including two bystanders. Authorities in Monterrey stated that the violence was the result of a turf war between drug gangs. Also on 17 January, 10 additional people died during other gang attacks on rivals and law enforcement personnel throughout the city. Gang members engaged police officers in shootouts in more than five locations, which resulted in gunshot wounds to two bystanders. According to security officials, cartel-related violence accounts for 63 killings in Monterrey so far in 2011. All but one of the victims were either cartel-related individuals or law enforcement officials.

Thailand (Country threat level - 4): Police officials in Bangkok announced on 18 January 2011 that they have reached an agreement with the Thai Patriots Network (TPN) to open up traffic through the area around the Government House complex. TPN activists began gathering around the Government House building in the Dusit district of the city on 13 January to protest against the government’s handling of the ongoing border dispute with neighboring Cambodia. Since then the demonstration has continued each day and has remained peaceful, but during business days on 14 and 16 January a crowd of TPN protesters blocked portions of Phitsanulok Road adjacent to the main gate at the Government House. Police negotiators have reportedly persuaded the protesters to open up traffic on Phitsanulok Road each day from 0600-1000 and 1500-1800 local time.

Meanwhile, TPN leader Chaiwat Sinsuwong was arrested on 18 January, shortly after he led a march to the Grand Palace complex to file a petition with the government to address the Thai royal family and relay the TPN grievances against the government. Prosecutors have charged Chaiwat with offenses related to his role in the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) protest siege of Bangkok’s airports in late 2008.

Analyst Comment: TPN representatives have not yet issued a response to the arrest and it is not yet known if the group’s protest campaign will be altered in the short term. Chaiwat split off from the PAD group after the 2008 protests and was one of the founding leaders of the TPN network. Though some police officials have expressed concern that the peaceful and relatively small TPN protests could be intensified in response to the arrest, Chaiwat himself has stressed restraint to the TPN membership. There are no indications that the TPN group is planning to launch a protest campaign similar to the PAD tactics used in 2008. Travelers to Bangkok should avoid the protest area outside the Government House, as the demonstration will likely continue to cause traffic disruptions.

Lebanon (Country threat level - 4): On 18 January 2011 several separate demonstrations were held in Beirut in support of Hizballah. The demonstrations each averaged only several dozen participants, and there were no reports of violence. Some schools were closed, however, and roads leading to the Grand Serail, the seat of government in downtown Beirut, were shut down as a result of the gatherings.

Analyst Comment: The demonstrations follow the 17 January filing of indictments with a pre-trial judge in the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), the U.N.-backed tribunal established to investigate and try suspects in connection with the February 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. The STL is a highly controversial entity in Lebanon, and anticipation that members of Hizballah will be among those indicted has contributed to a renewed political crisis that recently resulted in the collapse of the unity government. The indictments must still be reviewed by the pre-trial judge before any arrest warrants are publicly issued, which may take as long as 10 weeks according to some reports. In the meantime, the situation in Lebanon will continue to remain tense, fostering an environment in which further political demonstrations and even incidents of violence may occur. Thus far, however, the situation on the ground remains calm.

Libya (Country threat level - 3): On 17 January 2011 security forces gained control of several housing projects in the country that residents had taken over in protest over corruption and the lack of government housing. Misinterpreted statements by Libyan leader Muammar Khadafy regarding the rightful ownership of public housing may have prompted the unrest. Reports indicate that in several instances on 14-16 January demonstrators forcefully took over incomplete housing projects and ransacked the offices of foreign contractors engaged in the construction of the buildings in various cities and towns. In Tripoli, the capital, residents took over al-Waha project on Airport Road as well as several other developments in the nearby area. Although the take-overs appear to largely be at an end, local sources indicate that approximately 100 people remain at al-Waha project and that developers will not be able to return to the site for at least two weeks. Similar incidents of unrest also occurred in other locations, including the cities of Bidaa, Sabhaa and Bani Walid. In Darana and Benghazi, the capital of the Cyrenaica province, protesters reportedly overran several developments in looting incidents and fires broke out in several cases. Reports indicate that at least two people were killed and an unspecified number of people were arrested over the last several days.

Analyst Comment: The recent incidents in Libya come amid increasing concerns regarding potential regional ramifications of the recent uprising in neighboring Tunisia. Although there are some indications regarding a possible connection between the unrest in Tunisia and the developments in Libya, the breadth of such a connection is unclear. Gauging the connection is made more complicated by the fact that the autocratic nature of the Libyan government -- including the strict controls on national media -- makes it difficult to ascertain specifics regarding such developing situations. Reports of demonstrations and/or incidents of unrest, especially against the regime, are often quickly repressed. Although the recent reports appear to concur to some extent regarding the nature and motivation of the unrest, information regarding specifics such as scope and scale of the social actions are not always reliable.

Yemen (Country threat level - 4): On 18 January 2011 thousands of students protested at the University of Sanaa for a third consecutive day in support of the recent protest movement in Tunisia that toppled the government. Riot police have been deployed to control the crowds, which began gathering on 16 January, urging the Yemeni government to take heed of the situation in Tunisia and to make democratic reforms or face a similar fate. On 18 January the protests were confined to the university campus, as police officers fired into the air to prevent students from marching to Tahrir Square in central Sanaa. The riot police appear to have disbanded the protesters, but further rallies are probable in the coming days. Travelers in Yemen should avoid all large gatherings, as the protests have the potential to turn violent with little to no warning.

Nigeria (Country threat level - 5): On 18 January 2011 the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) militant group warned that it is planning to carry out fresh attacks in the Niger Delta region. The group stated that it will specifically target fuel depots and vehicles transporting petroleum products, and advised residents living near depots storing aviation fuel, diesel, kerosene, petrol, propane gas and engine oil to evacuate immediately. Many MEND members accepted a government amnesty program in late 2009, but the group resumed activity in 2010 due to the government’s inability to follow through with many of the amnesty’s provisions.

Nigeria (Country threat level - 5): Nigerian security forces in Jos, Plateau state, received shoot-to-kill orders on 18 January 2011 following clashes between Muslim and Christian youths during a voter registration event the previous day. The orders allow soldiers to kill anyone attempting to hurt another person or destroy a home or church. Authorities issued the orders after a mob of Christian youths killed a Muslim election official and set his body on fire on 17 January. The incident triggered additional clashes between the city’s Muslim and Christian populations. Security forces subsequently opened fire on the crowds when they were unable to pacify the situation, killing at least two other people. At least 100 people have been killed in clashes between Muslims and Christians in and around Jos since December 2010, and the 17 January incident serves to further heighten tensions as the country prepares for general elections in April 2011.

South Africa (Country threat level - 4): On 18 January 2011 the South African government declared a state of disaster in 28 municipalities in seven provinces due to recent flooding. The affected provinces include Gauteng, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, North West, Northern Cape and Limpopo; Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal have been the worst affected provinces. Among the municipalities included in the disaster declaration are Tshwane (Pretoria), Johannesburg and eThekwini, which includes Durban. The South African Weather Service has reported that most of the country’s rivers, dams and reservoirs have already reached capacity, and that additional rains are likely in the coming days. At least 40 people have been killed and 6,000 others have been displaced in the flooding, which has been ongoing since mid-December 2010.

For your pleasure; I was reading Taleb yesterday, which started a thought ticking, and so I wrote these remarks in reflection of what the author had sparked.

Nassim Nicholas Taleb is interested in how do live in a world we don't understand (practically and ethically), & mapping a Black Swan robust society. He spends his time as a philosophical flâneur, taking long walks (slowly), thinking in cafés across the plan, and ordering a lot of books (a flâneur is the exact opposite of the tourist).

*******My Commentary:

Statistical Undecidability and My Conjecture that all is ritual based 'magic' to the superconscious.

Our world is built and works on the way we perceive it, which is a matter of structural habituation of thinking and doing.
The runes of statistical analysis are no more—no less than talismans in the modern paradigm than were the ancient runes of the Magi.~ww

It doesn't take a racket scientist to figure out what is going on in the world. But it does require a delusion smashing epiphany. A provision only found within oneself.

Paraphrasing Twain; Rumors of my “antisemitism” are greatly exaggerated. That I have the freedom of will and thought to address the issue of 'Jewish Identity' has distressed some. That is their own problem if they project their delusions onto what I have said.

My position is and has always been to judge on individual merit. I do not believe in consensus, it is a delusion in itself. It takes the greatest imagination to come even close to getting another's perspective. Most agreements are built on emotion, not structural epistemological comprehension.
This is why investing our identity entirely within a group is an epistemic error. Contradictions are inevitable in any manner of 'groupthink' for the simple reason that we are first and foremost individual entities.

The very same core arguments I make about 'White Christian Identity' are the ones used to critique 'Jewish Identity', because the same core epistemic errors influence both—and any other identity cult, from tribal to national.

It is in all of our self interest to actually serve our own self interests, because it is in protecting them that protects all. It is the basis of the philosophy of Liberty. To allow each to protect his own, means adherence to our responsibility to general liberty as a base for our personal liberty.
It is our personal comprehension of this not a community comprehension—each and every individual needs to comprehend it on a deep personal level.

Again, consensus brings with it the caveat of being illusionary beyond the moment of agreement. A general consensus can only carry a vague general comprehension. Don't be so sure that people understand a prospect from your perspective and understanding of it.

A wise saying is attributed to Jesus of Nazareth, he said, “Come out from amongst them”.
Your were born with a brain to think things out on your own. In that aspect then, 'groupthink' is a sin {error}. A 'good conscience', is an informed and attentive conscience, rational and lucid.
“To yourself be true,” it is said. To do that you must know yourself.

You have a unique identity beyond any group. Come out from amongst them.~ww

The term "mentally unfit" always becomes popular in a scientific dictatorship. What is 'unfit' about the mental construct is based on the perspective of the state. A dangerous perspective for those concerned with liberty and justice.

This is interesting:

The Template of Demoncracy

The Federal Reserve was set up in 1913 to finance both sides of two subsequent world wars. In other words, these wars were funded by the credit of the US taxpayer. Apart from profiting from it , the Illuminati bankers use war to enslave us with debt, enact social change and consolidate their power .

Lawmakers consider new curbs on incendiary speech
By Russell Berman - 01/10/11 08:52 PM ET

“Shocked and saddened lawmakers grappled on Monday with the weekend shooting of one of their own, with some suggesting that new laws and regulations are needed to curb incendiary speech.
One lawmaker, Rep. Robert Brady (D-Pa.), has said he would introduce a bill to make it a crime to threaten or incite violence against a federal official.

Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) suggested the Federal Communications Commission was “not working anymore,” adding she would look at ways to better police language on the airwaves. A brick was thrown through a window of Slaughter’s district office last year. Abominable.”

All of this is a reaction to the remake of 'The Manchurian Candidate: 2011', staring, Jared Lee Loughner as MK Assassin, Gabrielle Giffords as a wounded congresswoman, and Federal Judge John McCarthy Roll as dead primary target.

A good analysis by Mister M on the Arizona tragedy where he stated he could be wrong on the staged event . I think we can take this MK-Delta event to the bank, unlike our money.

It was the most obvious Delta event to date for me followed by VA Tech massacre which was timed at the DC Gun law reversal decisions.

Committee Hotspots

Concerns and prayers to our friend OZspeakup and the great folks down under during this serious flooding.

Australia (Country threat level - 2): Australian authorities urged residents on Brisbane's western border to evacuate on 11 January 2011 as floodwaters continued to move toward the city. At least 20 people in Queensland state have been killed and dozens more have been reported missing since the flooding began in late December 2010. At least three-quarters of the state has been declared a disaster area, and the rainfall is expected to continue in the coming days. State officials warned of continued severe flooding, food shortages and other disruptions in the region.

Brazil (Country threat level - 3): Heavy rains have affected much of Brazil since 10 January 2011, resulting in flooding and mudslides that caused serious transportation disruptions throughout Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro states, killing at least 38 people. Several rivers and streams burst their banks, while mudslides buried houses and blocked roads across both states, causing major traffic jams in several locations. The Municipal Civil Defense on 12 January declared a state of alert due to landslides in 25 areas of Sao Paulo, whereas the flooding in the Rio de Janeiro state primarily affected the mountainous region, particularly in Teresopolis and Nova Friburgo.

Monarch "Sinnerman"

In wake of Giffords shooting, the mere act of questioning the government now being demonized

***Breaking News Snap!!! The “Question Mark” is now in question amongst the supposed leaders of the land.  This “mark” is simply too radical, too controversial to allow it to be used in media, speech or the classroom.

[caption id="attachment_12507" align="aligncenter" width="287" caption="Don't Ask Why?"][/caption]

In fact, the folks who know the law, make the laws, and know how to abuse them, have determined that this hideous ? “mark” is simply too revolutionary by it’s very nature to allow it’s further use  by citizens/peasants.   Deemed a “gateway” to terrorist activities like free thinking, forming one’s own opinion instead of choosing from the multiple choice answers provided by government and media – QUESTIONING is on the way to being outlawed.

The Protocols of Monarch

13:3. In order to distract people who may be too troublesome from discussions of questions of the political we are now putting forward what we allege to be new questions of the political, namely, questions of industry. In this sphere let them discuss themselves silly! The masses are agreed to remain inactive, to take a rest from what they suppose to be political (which we trained them to in order to use them as a means of combating the GOY governments) only on condition of being found new employments, in which we are prescribing them something that looks like the same political object. In order that the masses themselves may not guess what they are about WE FURTHER DISTRACT THEM WITH AMUSEMENTS, GAMES, PASTIMES, PASSIONS, PEOPLE'S PALACES .... SOON WE SHALL BEGIN THROUGH THE PRESS TO PROPOSE COMPETITIONS IN ART, IN SPORT IN ALL KINDS: these interests will finally distract their minds from questions in which we should find ourselves compelled to oppose them. Growing more and more disaccustomed to reflect and form any opinions of their own, people will begin to talk in the same tone as we because we alone shall be offering them new directions for thought ... of course through such persons as will not be suspected of solidarity with us.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Moon

Apropos of Patrick's latest header, this well made video will be no surprise to our COTO crew, but it's a good one to share with our naive brothers and sisters who may still believe American cultural supremacy put a man on the moon.   As the video shows, that feat would be impossible without a heavy lead shielded space capsule capable of crossing the Van Allen radiation belts.       Government's shabby deception of  'moon photos'  staged in a studio with impossible shadow parallax and crude slo-mo is exposed, as well as raw footage of the  'earth seen from the moon' images.     Another behavioral clue is footage of the three astronuts'  body language as they try to sell this blatant fraud to the public.      They had to remove Armstrong from further public speaking just to keep him from blowing their pathetic scam.

If all the other state deceptions didn't do it for ya yet, try this one!

Eco-Fascists Call For Prison Cities

It only took twelve years for the world's population to go from 6 to 7 billion. Our choices of planned and unplanned futures are both horrific:

Eco-Fascists Call For Prison Cities

The threat posed by the kind of scenario being promoted by Forum for the Future, the group responsible for the chilling video below, cannot be emphasized enough. The dictatorial hellhole of 2040, where cars will be banned, meat rationed, farming completely abolished and overtaken by the state, behavior catalogued on “calorie cards,” and careers ordained by the government, is the ultimate goal of the control freaks who have seized the reigns of the environmental movement.

Nearly every aspect of the policies undertaken by the global dictatorship that runs the “planned-opolis” depicted in the video are lifted wholesale from historical tyrannies.

The little red book that swept France

The little red book that swept France

The latest call to (non-violent) arms has turned a 93-year-old war hero into a publishing phenomenon. John Lichfield reports

Monday, 3 January 2011

[caption id="attachment_12423" align="alignleft" width="500" caption="He's Seen A Thing or Two..."][/caption]

Stéphane Hessel, centre, at a rally in Paris with the singer Jane Birkin and the writer Dan Franck.

Take a book of just 13 pages, written by a relatively obscure 93-year-old man, which contains no sex, no jokes, no fine writing and no startlingly original message. A publishing disaster? No, a publishing phenomenon.

Indignez vous! (Cry out!), a slim pamphlet by a wartime French resistance hero, Stéphane Hessel, is smashing all publishing records in France. The book urges the French, and everyone else, to recapture the wartime spirit of resistance to the Nazis by rejecting the "insolent, selfish" power of money and markets and by defending the social "values of modern democracy".

The book, which costs €3, has sold 600,000 copies in three months and another 200,000 have just been printed. Its original print run was 8,000. In the run-up to Christmas, Mr Hessel's call for a "peaceful insurrection" not only topped the French bestsellers list, it sold eight times more copies than the second most popular book, a Goncourt prize-winning novel by Michel Houellebecq.

The extraordinary success of the book can be interpreted in several ways. Its low price and slender size – 29 pages including blurbs and notes but just 13 pages of text – has made it a popular stocking-filler among left-wing members of the French chattering classes. Bookshops report many instances of people buying a dozen copies for family and friends.

But Mr Hessel and his small left-wing publisher (which is used to print runs in the hundreds) say that he has evidently struck a national, and international nerve, at a time of market tyranny, bankers' bonuses and budget threats to the survival of the post-war welfare state. They also suggest that the success of the book could be an important straw in the wind as France enters a political cycle leading to the presidential elections of May 2012.

In a New Year message Mr Hessel, who survived Nazi concentration camps to become a French diplomat, said he was "profoundly touched" by the success of his book. Just as he "cried out" against Nazism in the 1940s, he said, young people today should "cry out against the complicity between politicians and economic and financial powers" and "defend our democratic rights acquired over two centuries".

In a party-political aside which might or might not undermine his new status as political prophet, Mr Hessel went on to imply that "resistance" should begin with a rejection of President Nicolas Sarkozy and a vote for the Parti Socialiste.

The book has not pleased everyone. It also contains a lengthy denunciation of Israeli government policies, especially in the Gaza Strip. Although the final chapter calls vaguely for a "non-violent" solution to the world's problems, the book also suggests that "non-violence" is not "sufficient" in the Middle East. Mr Hessel, whose father was a German jew who emigrated to France, has been accused by French jewish organisations of "anti-semitism".

Mr Hessel was born in Berlin in 1917. He emigrated to France with his family when he was seven. He joined General Charles de Gaulle in London in 1941 and was sent back to France to help organise the resistance. He was captured, tortured and sent to concentration camps in Germany. After the war, he helped to draft the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.

Jean-Pierre Barou, the joint head of the small Montpellier-based publishing house Indigène, which commissioned the book, said Mr Hessel had revealed a "deep sense of indignation in France".

As a political tract, the book contains no especially original analysis of the world's problems.

"They dare to tell us that the State can no longer afford policies to support its citizens," Mr Hessel says. "But how can money be lacking ... when the production of wealth has enormously increased since the Liberation (of France), at a time when Europe was ruined? The only explanation is that the power of money ... has never been so great or so insolent or so selfish and that its servants are placed in the highest reaches of the State."

The originality of the book is the suggestion that an organized "Resistance" is now called for, just like in 1940. "We, veterans of the resistance ... call on young people to revive and pass on the heritage and ideals of the Resistance," the book says.

How people should resist the power of money and the markets – by peaceful means, the book insists – is not made entirely clear.

A message of resistance

* "I would like everyone – everyone of us – to find his or her own reason to cry out. That is a precious gift. When something makes you want to cry out, as I cried out against Nazism, you become a militant, tough and committed. You become part of the great stream of history ... and this stream leads us towards more justice and more freedom but not the uncontrolled freedom of the fox in the hen-house."

* "It's true that reasons to cry out can seem less obvious today. The world appears too complex. But in this world, there are things we should not tolerate... I say to the young, look around you a little and you will find them. The worst of all attitudes is indifference..."

* "The productivist obsession of the West has plunged the world into a crisis which can only be resolved by a radical shift away from the 'ever more', in the world of finance but also in science and technology. It is high time that ethics, justice and a sustainable balance prevailed..."

    Punjab says governor is missing

    Published: Dec 8, 2010 23:27 Updated: Dec 8, 2010 23:27

ISLAMABAD: Wednesday will remain a funny day in Pakistan's politics. The government of Punjab officially announced that its governor, Punjab Salman Taseer, was missing.

In a press conference, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah told journalists that "the governor has proceeded to Dubai without issuing any notification and in his absence Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Iqbal will act as the governor as directed in the Constitution."

Iqbal was a chairing session of Punjab Assembly when the law minister raised the issue in the house.

Speaker Rana Iqbal immediately adjourned proceedings hoping to take over as governor.

But the governor's house told him that "the governor has proceeded to Sukkar."

Taseer, who normally does not get furious, was over these matters very angry, saying "I am not answerable to these jokers."

He said if he has to go abroad he will first seek permission from the president and issue a proper office order.

Being an owner of Daily Times and Business Plus TV channel, Taseer said, "We have our own media network but why should I dance at the tune of these jokers."

Celebrity deaths will be numerous. A long time Vegas entertainer, a media mogul and an Arab statesman will hilight this group but a young popular female celebrity will die in a tragic accidental death. (names withheld)
