Hmmmm? Fizzle? North Carolina 110mph Cat 2 down to cat 1 west northwest.
If this does any wind damage of significance it will be tornadoes from landfall. I'll go with a little help and Northern track. Catagory 1 by Saturday and a lot of rain. Losing the eye definition. Now the NOAA loop above confirms it.

and then swing into Libya where NATO has gone in and slaughtered muslims under the CIA cover of another staged hollywood production of AFRICOM.
Top Story..ha... a boat in choppy waters on a rainy, windy day. If the hurricane were as horrendous as they keep saying it is that boat would have been torn to pieces and those little tin signs would be blowing away at great speed instead of just shaking a little.
ReplyDeleteI watched the news guy on the Weather Channel standing on the beach at Nags Head off and on today. He seemed to be perfectly able without too much difficulty to speak and stay on his feet. Another indication it's not as advertised.
This one is really funny. The guy reporting from in front of a bunch of stores on Virginia Beach with as serious a face as he could muster and as he's intoning how serious it is down there is upstaged by a bunch of guys running and shrieking behind him with a football. ...others going by in cars taking videos of him and still more people just walking by and smiling at the camera.
I hope the fun and games continues when it comes to NJ's turn. Right now at 1:50pm, it's gray and rainy and breezy here.

I have been forecasting the storm for the last week, as I forecast for Virginia DOT at my desk here in Nth Dakota every day. Other than the 6-11 inches of rain and winds of 45-60 mph in general, not really hurricane strength storm ashore. Hatteras NC did get some gusts to 80 mph, but nobody reported sustained winds of hurricane strength (65 mph) in the USA other than some offshore buoys.
