  3. So Morsi has "stepped down" in Egypt aye?

Constitution "suspended"...Hmmm, at least it is admitted in Egypt. The US Constitution has been suspended for close to a hundred years, but everyone here prefers to pretend.

I don't know about this E-4 in Austin...on Jones' visual alone? Anyone else say they saw it? How about the drones? How many sightings of those?

  8. Clarke said, “There is reason to believe that intelligence agencies for major powers” — including the United States — know how to remotely seize control of a car.
“What has been revealed as a result of some research at universities is that it’s relatively easy to hack your way into the control system of a car, and to do such things as cause acceleration when the driver doesn’t want acceleration, to throw on the brakes when the driver doesn’t want the brakes on, to launch an air bag,” Clarke told The Huffington Post. “You can do some really highly destructive things now, through hacking a car, and it’s not that hard.”
“So if there were a cyber attack on the car [Hasting's Mercedes] — and I’m not saying there was,” Clarke added, “I think whoever did it would probably get away with it.”~Richard Clarke

  11. Egypt’s Support for Intervention in Syria Was the Straw that Broke the Camel’s Back
The protests in Egypt against president Mohammed Morsi were – according to the BBC – the largest in history.

    Irish Times reports:
Army concern about the way President Mohamed Morsi was governing Egypt reached tipping point when the head of state attended a rally packed with hardline fellow Islamists calling for holy war in Syria, military sources have said.
Mr Morsi himself called for foreign intervention in Syria against Mr Assad, leading to a veiled rebuke from the army, which issued an apparently bland but sharp-edged statement the next day stressing that its only role was guarding Egypt’s borders.

Support of Western intervention in Syria was also one of the main causes of the recent enormous protests in Turkey … which came close to toppling the Turkish leadership.

  27. Washington Islamist Strategy in Crisis as Morsi Toppled. Egypt Protest directed against US

The swift action by Egypt’s military to arrest Mohamed Morsi and key leaders of his Muslim Brotherhood organization on July 3 marks a major setback for Washington’s “Arab Spring” strategy of using political Islam to spread chaos from China through Russia across the energy-rich Middle East. Morsi rejected the Defense Minister‘s demand that he quit to avert a bloodbath. He said he stood by his “constitutional dignity” and demanded the army’s withdrawal of its ultimatum. It may become the major turning point of America’s decline as world Sole Superpower when future generations of historians view events.~ William Engdahl

Note: The fourth certainly has the most interesting history of the original ten. Terry v. Ohio (06/10/1968) is definitely intriguing; however, by my interpretation of the events, that particular search was reasonable. Although, I can't say the same for many of the cases in which that precedent was cited...

    ReplyDelete
  29. buckyoutoo,

I disagree with you on Terry v. Ohio, as did Justice Douglas.

Justice Douglas strongly disagreed with permitting a stop and search absent probable cause:

"We hold today that the police have greater authority to make a 'seizure' and conduct a 'search' than a judge has to authorize such action. We have said precisely the opposite over and over again."[6]
"To give the police greater power than a magistrate is to take a long step down the totalitarian path. Perhaps such a step is desirable to cope with modern forms of lawlessness. But if it is taken, it should be the deliberate choice of the people through a constitutional amendment."
    . . . . .
What we have with this ruling, is the first step into the arena of "Pre-crime", and we have seen how far that has developed as part of the 'drip-drip-drip' of ruling such as 'Terry'.
Intent is hard to prove, even in the past tense, let alone as a predictive.

A crime is not a crime until actually committed. The other thing that bothers is the issue of the 2nd Amendment that is in play and never addressed here.
Terry and Chilton were subsequently charged with carrying concealed weapons. It is my assertion that carrying weapons in the open or concealed is protected by the 2nd.

So we have a compounding cascade of diminishing rights tied up in this particular case - first relying on the fact of statutes against carrying weapons. Then extending to first Ybarra v. Illinois, Minnesota v. Dickerson, etc, as per traffic stop searches.

And then to Hiibel v. Sixth Judicial District Court of Nevada, requiring the suspect to identify himself during a Terry stop did not violate the Fourth Amendment prohibitions of unreasonable searches and seizures or the Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination.

So we see here from this one case; 'Terry' we have advanced to the point of the Gestapo situation of "Show me your papers", and the problem of "ID" and the right to anonymity and privacy, unless actually found in the blatant commission of an actual crime.

  30. A proposition may be more or less reasonable, but it cannot be more or less constitutional.

    \\][//

    ReplyDelete
  31. My use of the word reasonable was drawn from the text of the fourth amendment: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unREASONABLE searches and seizures..."
Which is quite vague enough to constitutionally permit searches that can be interpreted by the courts as not "unreasonable". Lots of discretion left to the Judiciary there... :-\
I definitely agree with Justice Douglas' dissent, but chose not to include this case precisely because it was one of those ‘drip-drip-drip’ cases, while the others were all in flagrant disregard to the Bill of Rights. However I do not intend to imply that this slow chipping away of our rights is in anyway acceptable!

"Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of freedoms of the people by gradual and silent encroachment of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations."
    - James Madison (06/06/1788)

You definitely present a valid point regarding the encroachment of second amendment rights as well. I'll admit, my research on #2 was particularly lacking, but I suspect earlier abridgments took place as well...

It appears that even the third is being called into question now too!

    [and double-flush]

James Clapper said he issued his remarks because he was thinking instead of a different aspect of surveillance.

The most senior US intelligence official told a Senate oversight panel that he “simply didn’t think” of the National Security Agency’s efforts to collect the phone records of millions of Americans when he testified in March that it did “not wittingly” snoop on their communications.

  33. Haha my favorite quote from this:
"I thought, though in retrospect, I was asked -- 'When are you going to start --stop beating your wife' kind of question, which is meaning not -- answerable necessarily by a simple yes or no. So I responded in what I thought was the most truthful, or least untruthful, manner by saying 'no'."

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thank you for your reply buckyoutoo,

    The Fourth Amendment:
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

The Key phrases historically have always been:
"Warrants" first and foremost, this strict technicality to prevent arbitrary practices from settling into law.

"probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation."
This obviously rests on SPECIFICITY - again to avoid arbitrary practices, to build a pause of reflection for a concern for the axiom of 'innocent until proven guilty'.

The phrase "unreasonable" is a subjective assessment, and has therefore been seized by the post modern national state as a term of "plausibility" - that is a term that can be rhetorically manipulated.
    . . . . .
As far as the 2nd and the history of reasoning pertaining to the amendment, this is very good:

Was the Right to Keep and Bear Arms Conditioned on Service in an Organized Militia?

  36. "Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination."

Also be very wary when coming across the word "privilege" when used in reference to a right.
Privilege is understood to be a grant from authority. Rights are seen as pre-existent and unalienable.

It should be of concern that the writ of habeas corpus is referred to as a 'privilege' in the body of the Constitution itself. This may be balanced or parsed somewhat as an authority of some sort is assumed as a integer in the formula. That is "someone has the body", and as a legal system that someone would be the state. So the state promise to 'grant' a lawful mechanism may be a reasonable construction.

I disagree with the philosophical argument I just made, but intuit it as possible as the ground of the thinking as to the wording used in the Constitution.

Was hysterical at our seeing through the Obammy slammy jingo jive.

It built up to more than that of course as he tried to deal with us with silly rules and a new 'thumbs up/down" system which was dominated with thumbs up for Mr M and myself. That's when the Coalition came into focus for him...he realized we had a loosely organized team, and of course supported each other.

This can be described from many points of view...I am just giving my perspective. But M and I were the targeted "bad boys" flaunting his authority. I have to say, I take such things personally...I really came to despise the son-of-a-bitch...it wasn't 'academic' to me, he acted like a fricking dictator and ended up ditching a lot of good people that really didn't break any of his rules, just voiced support for those he didn't like. Though “hostile” environmental modification was banned by UN Convention in 1978, its “friendly” use today is being hailed as the new savior to climate change and to water and food shortages. The military-industrial complex stands poised to capitalize on controlling the world’s weather. read more http://www.pakalertpress.com/2013/07/04/atmospheric-geoengineering-weather-manipulation-contrails-and-chemtrails/?

They did not exclude using the weather weapons and experimentation on it's own citizens and soil. The rules confirm we are under a banker backed Agenda 21 UN designed global assault to unify nations under one world order and population modification under memorandum 200.

  61. “On July 4, 1776, America gained independence from Britain. Everything changed but stayed the same. Same old, same old continued. It did so under new management.
Duplicitous politicians planned it this way. Today we'd call them a Wall Street crowd. They included bankers, merchants, planters, ship owners, lawyers, politicians, judges, slave owners and traders, speculators, smugglers, privateers, and other type wheeler-dealers.

"We the people," meant them. They created a government of men, not laws. Property owners alone had rights. Ordinary people didn't matter. They were entirely left out.”~Lendman

It's time to make a racket, as in loud noise, not a coming together for criminal enterprise. So lets make a racket about the racket and put it in a bracket and soon the time will come to sack it.

  63. Tourettes is usually manifest as uncontrollable cussing [cursing] in hysterical outbursts...

I suppose there may be some form of analysis or hypnotherapy that could condition one to "squeak" unintelligibly during such episodes. That would be better than this "spokesperson" telling everyone in range to fuck off, and such...{???}...Lol

I don't know if Tourettes is more common among kayaks, but many forms of psychosis seems to be; especially psychopathy, and neurosis.

  64. “…I see the despoiling of the world – so overwhelming and beyond measure, in the subjection of the war years and the disorganization that followed, that the unworthy conquistadores (hardly one of whom rises beyond the level of ill-bred mediocrity) have fallen short in their victory, and have been unable to organize the division of the spoils. In a few years, they have succeeded only in upsetting the economy of the world, the compass of which has gone crazy, and accumulating mountains of gold and riches of a useless nature – worse than useless, devastating – on the two ruined continents. I see war, wars in preparation or in progress, everywhere, under cover of the sinister buffoonery of Geneva: the League of Nations. I see, under the shameful farce of Disarmament, the monstrous increase of war budgets, even in nations which have been bled white, which do not devote a tenth of their remaining resources to the upkeep of their own house – public works, bread for the unemployed, education. Everything by which men live, all the blood of others, flows to destruction: everything to the guns!…I see destruction of vital values everywhere – wheat burned in countries where millions are dying of hunger…"~Romain Rolland

  65. I rented the Bruce Willis film, 'A Good Day to Die Hard' [DVD] and watched yesterday.

Stupid, but revealing. It reveals the wounded psychotic nature of the Amerikan fragmented and delusional mind.

Not only the hour long car chase, and the almost continuous shoot'm-up bullshit, but also the few moments of dialog which reveal the jejune and crippled nature of the Amerikan Macho-Man.

The film is nothing but an exploding turd.

  66. I have yet to catch the latest installment of the Die Hard series. What will be the fate of our American Macho-Man?

While probably painfully obvious to those here, "Live Free or Die Hard" (06/27/2007) provides a glimpse into the types of people (and the motivations behind them) who would stand to gain from the cyberwarfare escalation.

Also see "Eagle Eye" (09/26/2008) for a fascinating preview of the potential power provided by the Black Octopus (Blackmail) of the near future (or possibly, present).

  67. As per Eagle Eye...

Seems to me the Super Computer had the right idea...too bad the stupid people fucked it up.

But I see 007 as the actual villain in the real world too.

    Maybe I'm....weird.

  72. If an artificial intelligence acts anything like the other 'intelligent' lifeforms we are aware of, one could assume that it would seek to dominate all resources with no regard to other living creatures (à la "The Terminator").
Or if for some reason, it required humans to survive; like cows through the slaughterhouse, so are the days of our Matrix...

While quite probable that some of The Powers That Believe would wish to entirely eliminate humans from the kill-chain, this actually represents a double-edged sword. For if they were to find their own names on such a death list, there would be no one to blackmail or bribe their way out. In the meantime, all these systems are designed, implemented, and executed by people. People prone to such pesky problems as having consciences, morals, and questioning towards authority.

Glad you enjoyed the film! :-)
