The vintage of the song brings the fact to the surface that those of us that go back to the time frame of it's release that never sold out have been in this dissent for the greater part of our lives. Curious thing though, the greater message as it was in our time is getting out to the youth in the good music of this day as it was in our day. My kudo's to the artists and others of passion..
I was lucky, I read A Thousand and One Arabian Nights when I was a kid. Nobody was ever going to tell me that Sindbad the Sailor was a punk.
And Scheherazade...c'mon, what a slick lady...aye?
The Thief of Baghdad....some groovy lala and don't get me started on them 40 Thieves, Ali Baba ...hey "Open Sesame baby"...[yea worked for me every time when I was younger...] \\||//
Saw him in 1976 at the Astrodome Kool Jazz festival with Nancy Wilson and your favorite Deb MFSB that great Phillie sound Gamble and Huff. I'd like to go back. I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Yea, very cool movie. Hey did you know that Sabu's son Paul is a great guitar player? I was in a couple of bands with him in Wallihood back in those days.
I think you can find some YouTubers of his stuff if you type his name in. Could a few years ago at least.
Of course a young Sabu is the thief who steals the Jewel out of the head of that huge statue in the film. He played in some other great films as well. I think he was in 'Khyber Rifles' as well. That kid REALLY did have elephant magic. \\][//
I'm always looking for clues and trivia Rogue. Old Holyrood is the best. Todays little riddles are so lame it has no challenge any longer. The greats are gone and what was hitchcock is all hitch and cock now. Sad but true. que sera, sera.
Damn right Marvin was beautiful. "What's goin on" is one of my all time favorites. I loved his voice and his songs. Such a tragic ending to his life :(
I still love this song
