The Looniest of all 9/11 Conspiracy Theories

[caption id="attachment_10948" align="alignnone" width="130" caption="Guess which one of them believes the boxcutter story"][/caption]

Re-found this gem linked to by whatreallyhappened.com today. The Idaho Observer was a great place for some good writing, but sadly the man behind the site died or was killed recently, I guess we'll never know which. Kinda like Chris Story at worldreports.org. 9-11 anniversaries always get me a down, but my (first, last and only) 8 month old baby Rosaleigh always brings back the smile. ENJOY. Brad (wxman2001)

From the August 2003 Idaho Observer:

The looniest of all 9/11 conspiracy theories

“Let us not tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories,” President Bush stated amid increasingly loud accusations that his administration may have allowed the tragic events of 9/11 to occur as a pretext justifying U.S. expansion of armed conflict around the world to allegedly wage war on terrorism. Curiously, most of the “outrageous conspiracy theories” to which he refers incorporate some extremely sound science, logic and witness testimony where the official version is lacking in those critical areas. The following is a rather clever and immensely sarcastic approach to the government's explanation of 9/11 -- which follows a pattern established by the “magic bullet theory” to explain the assassination of JFK and a Ryder truck full of fertilizer and fuel oil to explain the damage at the Murrah federal building in OK City.

by Gerard Holmgren

Astute observers of history are aware that for every notable event there will usually be at least one ,often several wild conspiracy theories which spring up around it. “The CIA killed Hendrix”; “the Pope had John Lennon murdered”; “Hitler was half Werewolf”; “Space aliens replaced Nixon with a clone,” etc, etc. The bigger the event, the more ridiculous and more numerous are the fanciful rantings which circulate in relation to it.

So its hardly surprising that the events of Sept. 11, 2001, have spawned their fair share of these ludicrous fairy tales. And as always, there is -- sadly -- a small but gullible percentage of the population eager to lap up these tall tales, regardless of facts or rational analysis.

One of the wilder stories circulating about Sept 11 (and one that has attracted something of a cult following amongst conspiracy buffs) is that it was carried out by 19 fanatical Arab hijackers, masterminded by an evil genius named Osama bin Laden, with no apparent motivation other than that they “hate our freedoms.”

Never a group of people to be bothered by facts, the perpetrators of this cartoon fantasy have constructed an elaborately woven web of delusions and unsubstantiated hearsay in order to promote this garbage across the Internet and the media to the extent that a number of otherwise rational people have actually fallen under its spell.

Normally I don't even bother debunking this kind of junk, but the effect that this paranoid myth is beginning to have requires a little rational analysis, in order to consign it to the same rubbish bin as all such silly conspiracy theories.

  1. Sorry Brad, your "more" link craps out to a diversionary page...just like the gov't's "story".

Perhaps not the way you meant to make your point, but a fitting metaphor none-the-less.

  2. I was looking for obituaries of Christopher Story just now, and found a website with a cached copy of his last posting, one I never read before his death and which was taken off his site after he died (all the previous posts seem to be there, though)
here is a link to it, in which he says he has been poisoned.

  4. Yes, he stated he was poisoned. I was looking forward to letters of incriminating evidence being shared with humanity; boxes of the stuff being revealed that Story had held back...

I'm saddened that that he and his voice were eliminated from the investigation of the anti-humanity Klan. I am disappointed in the lack of further information coming from his corner, but hopeful that he left some fuses lit that will yet lead to random explosions of Truth and Consequences.

Christopher Story died peacefully at home on 14th July 2010 after a short illness.
Book orders will continue to be accepted as usual. However there may be a short delay in processing existing orders.

His family are grateful for their privacy at this sad time.* *

One thing about guys with connections--such as Story obviously HAD to have had, with all the inside scoop he dealt with>>when you know guys like that, they know you back, and they watch you close, and you'd best never cross one.

Problem is, just by the nature of the job of journalism; you are bound to cross someone eventually. It is playing with vipers.

  6. I don't buy into this story very much because the guy basically reveals less than you would find in an Infowars comment thread. No question however how many truthers have been intimidated, threatened, and murdered. Pappy Bush is one dirty mafia bastard, no question there either. And HW was apparently VERY involved in Dalles, the assassination of them all, even calling in a warning for cover.

  7. I know what you mean...there is a lot of posting of the same statue over and over at that site...all assertions--anonymous government insiders. [????????]
But there are good connections on banking intrigueries, and intergregories, and intersperzalizoidal complexions as per parasitical triffids and such.

But jessss...the official conspiracy theory is the goofiest in the land of OZ.
