Obama staffer wants ‘cognitive infiltration’ of 9/11 conspiracy groups

In a 2008 academic paper, President Barack Obama's appointee to head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs advocated "cognitive infiltration" of groups that advocate "conspiracy theories" like the ones surrounding 9/11.
Cass Sunstein, a Harvard law professor, co-wrote an academic article entitled "Conspiracy Theories: Causes and Cures," in which he argued that the government should stealthily infiltrate groups that pose alternative theories on historical events via "chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups and attempt to undermine" those groups.
As head of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, Sunstein is in charge of "overseeing policies relating to privacy, information quality, and statistical programs," according to the White House Web site.

Sir, do you really believe that your attempt to stifle truth is going to work? Because of your position of attempting to stop people from thinking for themselves one has to wonder about the general state of education today if this kind of Orwellian thinking is coming from a Harvard professor.
You have to know that people don't come to the conclusion easily that their government may have been involved in heinous crimes, even though history proves that governments can't be trusted and have more often than not committed horrendous acts against the very people they are charged to protect.
I have to ask, do you believe that the nearly 1,000 architects and engineers on a&efortruth9/11 are suffering from a mental illness? Or the hundreds of pilots at Pilots-for-Truth-9/11? Our how about the firefighters and first responders at Firefighter-for-Truth-9/11, that were there and witnessed the events, are they too suffering from this same mental illness? Or perhaps you can visit Scholars for Truth 9/11 and view many of your brethren, professors, military, intelligence agents and politicians, are they too sick? Of course, lets not leave out the nearly 50% of the public that have seen through the propaganda that is spewed by the massive MSM, that now believe that they are being lied to by our government about many of the things we've been told.
No professor, if there is anyone that's sick here its you. Your attempt to stop people from uncovering the truth smacks of the worst mental illness of all. Honest debate is one thing, but that is not what you're proposing. What you're propose is the attempt to dishonestly infiltrate groups with paid disinformation agents, hardly honest, and it smacks of the kind of thinking that no free society should tolerate. If you were honest with yourself, you should resign your position in shame, for your very presents in academia is itself abhorrent.

1. He seems to be speaking outside his area. I would have to slog through his PDF paper to see... but his area is Law... not cognitive or social theory.
2. How is this any different than COINTELPRO? Not much. Furthermore, there is evidence to indicate that the "9-11 Truth Movement" has ALREADY had "cognitive infiltration." Responsible "Truthers" are asking for a REAL investigation (with testimony UNDER OATH, rules of evidence, etc.) and nothing more.
3. It seems that Sunstein is weak in his own area as far as "rules of evidence" go. Like all flaks and hacks... he is cobbling together "reasonable" support for a decision that has already been made. "We need to stifle this shit... how do we do it?"
WHAT "shit?" WHY do "we" need to stifle it? WHO is "we?" And "conspiracy theory?" WHERE the hell does that come from?
The "official story" IS a fucking "conspiracy theory."
I'd like to thank Cass Sunstein for supporting the mass-murderers who staged the 9/11 event. Not only have you shown extraordinary courage in your quest for truth and justice, but the fact that you want to employ illegal and immoral tactics in the support of condemnation of those seeking the truth places you in the lowest category of humans.
