Oh, I get it, they feared he might haul a large wooden cross to school and had a plan to crucify a fellow student at recess. If you with children don't consider home schooling soon, I fear the worst. Can the idiocy and lunacy of these episodes get any more surreal?
The biggest crime here is that public education has been almost completely destroyed. How many families can affort to "home school" when working parents still can't pay their bills? If nitwits are placed in positions of power, it is by design.

ReplyDeleteStates should put the lion share of lottery education funds in getting competent people instead of a fraction.
It all boils down to the incessant theft and mismangement of the public money, I know.

ReplyDeleteMy daughter plans to home school her 18 month old son when the time comes if they force her to have him vaccinated to enter.
Every year the school system's implementation of authoritarian policy becomes more draconian incrementally.
ReplyDeleteThe only way short of revolution to improve policy on the local level is to go to school board meetings prepared to raise the appropriate criticisms (backed by the willingness to organize and fight) when appropriate.
Oh, and I am not saying that revolution may not, in the end, be very appropriate.

ReplyDeleteIf I had kids in school I'd be there, that's for certain. I'd engage as well to what they were getting taught. Teachers ought to get paid more. The babysitters and frauds fired!

Jersey, I talk to the home schooled kids of my area and they are the politest, smartest and most engaging I have encountered.
ReplyDeleteMy house in the mountains is right near the high school. The kids I have encountered are depressed, monotone and anti-social. It's like the Village of the Damned.
There's a women that has told me that her child was being taught the "good side" of Hitler in class. She tried to find out just who and what the hell is going on, and the school so far has been evasive and defensive.

It has now gotten to the point that public schools are nothing more than indoctrination camps, in-your-face brainwashing facilities.
But hey, what do they need an education for anyway? How much brain-power does it take to pull a trigger?
