Wow , Scott! What an AMAZING video ! I won't comment on the content because I don't want to give it away before others get to see it.
We represent the buffalo and the lions are the powers that be. I AM inspired. However, I must admit as far as the animals go (not the powers that be)I have mixed feelings because they are young lions and they need to eat too :)
sad thing is after the damage inflicted the littlie probably did,nt make it. deep puncture and tears in a warm climate. nasty. metaphor. same as the vaccination of kids:-) results just take a while to show.
Metaphors tend to get a bit slippery when focusing on the actual symbols and their interactions... which sometimes drifts away from components of the abstraction that the metaphor was intended to represent.
Whew. That was gnarly. Try again: the relationship between predators and prey. The lessons from both "Kruger" and "Wildebeests" appears to be:
1. Solidarity, and 2. Reality.
Where the COTO comes in is: we gotta get a larger dose of reality before any kind of useful solidarity is gonna happen. Maybe we are buffalo, maybe we are wildebeests, but we sure as hell aint one of those stripey things over there.
And when the predators attack, we aint gonna just "fly away." No wings. Dig it.
No mirrors on the Serengeti... you can be anything you want. Most of us would rather be a cat. But we aint. Our tops aint made outta rubber... our bottoms aint made outta springs. And even if we were... like podz sez... it aint easy.
Did you notice in Kruger... how the WHOLE HERD came back? It's like they all walked out of the frame and had a conference: wow I'm sick o this shit. First the cats... then the crocs... and looka what they doin to dat little guy.
And looka how big we is. And looka how many we is. Well, i dunno bout yoo guyz... but im goin back there and give tabby da horn. watch dis. yeah... me too. and for once... the role was reversed. And why?
Saw this for the first time about a year ago. I don't know about the symbolism, what it means or what it represents. I can guess and offer my two cents but I don't really feel any of that is important to how life shall be played and/or played out. What is noticable to me is how right and wrong or good and bad is just a perception of our desire for the answers that are just not there. However, one strong feeling I must say, does come over me to me as I watch this again. Life is a gift. A beautiful freakin gift....and a fragile one.
The government is your shepherd you shall not want It maketh you to lie down in green pastures It leadeth you beside the still waters It restoreth your soul It leadeth you in the paths of righteousness for Its' name's sake Yea, though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death you will fear no evil for the government art with you Its' rod and staff they comfort you It preparest a table before you in the presence of your enemies It anointest your head with oil your cup runneth over Surely goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life and you will dwell in the house of the government for ever
Had a dual take myself. That the true carnivores(without conscience) will eat up the real meat(future of the young) of a country, if we let them. It will take the masses, once they decide to get off their asses, to dismantle the feeding frenzy properly. Secondly, it does take a village.

Inspiring Willie. Let's not forget the crocs who are in waiting in water like the neocons to take what's not theirs.
ReplyDeleteThanks, there could not have been a better juxtaposition than this film and We The People versus the baby killers in our government and IMC.

The government is your shepherd
ReplyDeleteyou shall not want
It maketh you to lie down in green pastures

It restoreth your soul
It leadeth you in the paths of righteousness
for Its' name's sake
Yea, though you walk through the valley
of the shadow of death
you will fear no evil
for the government art with you
Its' rod and staff they comfort you
It preparest a table before you
in the presence of your enemies
It anointest your head with oil
your cup runneth over
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow you
all the days of your life
and you will dwell
in the house of the government for ever
