People aren't killing people. Corrupt and insane people working and being paid by corrupt and insane "systems" are doing the killing for Power and Greed. We can lump them together as Corporations. "For Profit" figment entities, ascribed the "Personhood" and attributes of "real" human people. All Lawyered up, they become formidable machine-like foes, developed to exploit the earth and select groups of humans for profit and control. Empowered by fiat money, protected by private security forces, using Media to indoctrinate and sell a "public image", they are the Plundering Machines in the hands of sociopaths and psychopaths. Governing "systems" would also fall under this Corporation label.

WHERE DID WE GO WRONG? MISPLACED TRUST. LOYALTIES TO FIENDS, AND ENEMIES OF MANKIND.

How to Save a Life? In the midst of all this bitterness? Pull your head out of the Machine. Feel your heart beat. Those being killed by the Machine in far-off places, OR right around the corner might have been your "friend". They're someone else's "family" and friend.
