Helping Liberty Along

Sunday We saw The Ron Paul on the south steps of the Texas Capitol.I estimate from three to four thousand supporters.Afterwards we toured the Capitol and saw all the paintings of the struggle for Texas independence painted in the 1800´s. The flag in 1834 was "Liberty Or Death". The depictions of the Alamo and San Jacinto were about thirty feet long and very detailed. There were lots of young folks chanting "end the wars". Us old farts were chanting "end the fed".There was a dude in a suit there carrying a scoped rifle,just the thing to take to a political rally right? After living through the sixties I was awed he didnt get the works from the Texas Public Safety people. Turns out he was running for Texas rep and was trying to make some kind of statement (statements made with high powered rifles usually come from a  well placed hide, not from acting like a dillweed). It was hot as hell but there were some oak trees to give shade.

Liberty was there,and she was a real sweetheart.
