I really like the idea of a "fear interlude" because the subject matter this blog contends with on a daily basis is heavy and razing to the soul. However, I've been following for sometime now and I feel the topics of interest are too important to align with a doped up guitar player doing back bends and a dated performer whose message likely came from his own narcotic stupor. It's not about the music choice as much as the choice of musicians that diminishes the message and frankly, sends an obtuse message. This blog needs to be taken seriously on every level because it is a mirror of truth.
The drummer was shakin a meth cocktail. It's an easy record sell.
Thanks for commenting n1r22. We have to laugh and rock a little else we'd all be on the Paxil bandwagon eh?
This is serious shit. Today I had six birds fly into my a-frame windows. I was really freaking out. The dogs did not want out until I went with them. That's really strange. Five days no sun here.
Don't get too hung up on one tune n1r22. Storm Troopers popped into my head for some reason this a.m. Hadn't thought of the tune for about 30 years. Must be all the downer "police state" stuff coming down like a lead rain. Figured we should have a musical "interlude", 'cause we haven't done it for awhile here.
Anyways, one germ of thought leads to another, then they bounce off each other and cause a commotion somewhere else, and on and on it goes...
Now think -- today's "Fear-based" reality of a non-reality {as in a false WOT}. TSA and DHS fear pumping and groping solutions for all. And all the "other" stuff waiting to drop like an anvil from the sky. O.K. The table is set...now remember when songs like Nugent's were heard with songs like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsW8rXPcnM0
Quite a juxtaposition of outlooks and attitudes towards the perceived reality. What's real and what's not? What do Americans want, right up to the moment when either the Sun bursts out and all nature rises in song, or the other version when the storm troopers start marching?
I could just as easily have swapped out Storm Troopers for Summer Breeze or something else. Then, the picture changes entirely, and your comment also changes entirely. Yet the chord that has been strummed lately very loudly is the Storm Troopers Coming Fear Chord. It keeps getting played loudly and repeatedly across the main street media spectrum. So, I think the Chord the song {in sum} plays is pertinent to the serious tone, dialogue, and information we discuss here most of the time. Ted's a metaphor for something larger than this song and his performance or mental condition. "Someone" IS messing with our mental conditions every day on a whole bunch of levels -- sensory, emotional, physical, etc. What song resonates with a chord you're hearing or thinking about?
He's looking a bit whacked for sure. I had never seen Nugent playing live before I pulled up this video. Yeah, him and firearms/weapons seems like recipe for disaster.
I tell you what you guys are on another level! Sorry it's taken so long to respond but I'm a student and well you know how that goes. Anyway, I accept your enlightening explanations and see your points with new perspective. Thanks for taking the time!
That dude should never have been allowed to own firearms.
