At the City Consul meeting we wore gags around our mouths and had signs decrying the "3-min. rule" that you get to speak before our lords and masters now. An officer singled me out and told me I had to hold my sign at "chest-level."
I thanked him for informing me, and asked him if this was a "rule" or a "law?"
He answered a rule, and I said thank you, smiled and kept the sign held high.
I had made a two-sided sign, one side had a sentence decrying the new law, and the other side I drew a picture, with these words, "Can't speak? Try signing!", with the picture of a hand flipping the bird.
I had arrange myself in the proper position to be caught on their camera, which when people went-up to speak before the consul, the sign appeared 4`-wide on the two huge screens, so everyone in the meeting could see it.
The officer, huge, bald-headed, black man with arms the size of my legs, comes over a second time, and this time to ask me not too show the "bird."
I smiled and again asked if this were a rule or a law, and before he could answer I answered,"... okay, because you asked this time." I still held the sign in high view, just not the "bird" side. Although everyone sitting behind us could see it.
So as we're leaving, and I'm passing said officer, the officer extends his hand!
At first I thought I might get tazered. But he was being cool.
The conversation I had with the "Neighborhood Liaison." A one, young Jeff Kugler, whom I'm afraid I was a little too rough on before the meeting, was interesting too. Poor kid. But fuck him. Time's short. Catch-up.
