Folks, there was an earlier uproar when Alex Jones' film, The Obama Deception, was taken down at YouTube.
Some good news is that the film is back at its original link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAaQNACwaLw
...And, the view count is above 6.5 million views.
So, it looks like someone at YouTube (a Google property) chose to be helpful in restoring the video. How did the video get removed in the first place? --That is still a good question. But, even if we leave that aside or chalk it as a compromised-password hack...
I'm making this point. Never mind the action at YouTube. Instead, let's look at the action at Google. What has happened there during the recent disruption? --What happened there is, to me, MORE revealing. And eyebrow-raising. And ugly.
First, "Obama Deception" was the top trending search on Google. When the video was deleted at YouTube, that entry at Google went away.
Second, "Obama Deception Censored" became a top search because Alex Jones asked his audience to google that term. That term rose in the rankings, and then went away.
Third, "Google Spies" (as in "Google Spies, Censors Users") became a top search because Alex Jones asked his audience to google that title. "Google Spies" rose in the rankings, and then went away.
Let's face it. "Went away" is a euphemism for items removed by Google. No one should believe for a minute that those terms went away accidentally.
So. As I was saying, leave aside the action at YouTube headquarters. The behavior of Google headquarters -- to sanitize their trend display -- is flatly more disturbing than the possible password compromise at YouTube.
At websites, illegal entry to an account by way of a password (filched, stolen, or divined) is a garden-variety occurrrence. Most famously, Sarah Palin had her email account hacked. So, what happened at YouTube was like vandalism. Dirty tricks, revealing a petulent adolescent mind set, that could have come from any direction. Any direction means that it could have been the CIA. It could have been Rahm Emanuel. Or, it could have been a 12-year-old hacker in Singapore. I have to leave this matter aside because it is not (yet?) revealed to the world who did that.
But, the alteration of the Google trends display is *ENTIRELY A DIFFERENT MATTER*, because it is FAR less likely to be a 12-year-old in Singapore. In fact, it's less likely to be Rahm Emanuel or the CIA. The Google trend display would be run from Google corporate headquarters, and manipulation as we've recently seen is likely to be only possible with inside knowledge of that system.
Hence, we arrive at my headline, "Google reveals its hand." Insiders at Google headquarters were deliberately choosing to play a game of cat-and-mouse, and to alter the results of a major Google display -- hence calling into question the integrity of any and all data and results published by Google. In my eyes, they just shot their credibility. I would not recommend that anybody believe any numbers that come out of Google. And the game they played today was Orwellian. This tripe (BS!) was worthy of the Ministry of Truth in a novel by George Orwell.
The time has come, and we should all shift our searching habits to (e.g.) Ask.com. #DoneWithGoogle
Agree! Google is the NSA's bitch. It's no surprise to me why this happened. What does surprise me is that it took them this long.
ReplyDeleteWhat does it matter, the goons are storing every electronic communique on some super duper server paid for by our tax dollars(those that still have jobs anyway)I figure I will save the agencies some snoopin money by just using their main search engine, besides I dont have anything to hide, right? Think of it as My little contribution to reducing the deficit. And by the way NSA weenies,KISS MY ASS.
