COTO CREW ALERT

I am in the middle of discussion with Peter from Project censored..

he wants to hear about the apparent deliberate and organized suppression of "left" blogs.

He wants a link. Can we put a story together, very quickly?

  1. I wasn't banned with the first group but I was cut off immediately after I sent the following email to Glenn Greewald:

Dear Glenn: I was disappointed to read that you were willing to appear on the radio with Rob Kall of OpEdNews. Are you aware of the recent purge there which included the mass banning of 30+ contributors including a senior editor? The “reasons” were thin-to-none accusations- this is from Rob’s response to my complaint:

"...we're cracking down on this crew, holding firmer to rules aganst spamming articles and personal attacks and name calling. The goal is to maintain our open forum for discourse-- a forum that this small group has effectively intimidated and turned off. "

As a (formerly) active participant at the site, in my view his claims were preposterous. No examples were ever given. And of course banned persons had no way to defend themselves. As others came forward to question the banning in comments at the site, they were banned themselves.

Just a heads-up. I’m sure you are capable of evaluating Rob on your own.

    Claudia

  2. I was in the first group of those banned at OEN. Why were we banned? Not for name calling or spamming but simply for stating the truth about the duopoly. We tried to make the point that voting for either party meant voting against our own best interests and tried to encourage others to vote third party. Rob Kall and his "editors" were not amused.

At one point, out of the sheer goodness and generosity of his heart, Kall gave us a day to air our opinions on the above subjects and then proceeded to tell us after that, enough raining on the Obama/dem parade. In effect, putting us into a "free speech zone" for one day and one day only. He even had a name for us "the Darkness Gallery". That's when the divine Mr M, our resident political cartoonist, came up with the moniker, "Coalition of the Obvious". We were banned simply for having differing opinons. None of us were McCain supporters or racists, though we were often accused of being so.

Daily Kos is notorious for banning any discussion of 9/11 truth. You've already heard his smearing of Dennis Kucinich, one of the few true progressives in congress. Left wing gatekeeper applies here. Once CIA always CIA.

Huffington Post ditto on the 9/11 blackout. I'm sure you know the story of them pulling Jesse Ventura's article on "What Really Happened on 9/11" after personally asking him to post his "conspiracy theories" there. I really don't get it since 9/11 happened on Bush's watch. What's the deal ?

A few here have also been banned from Common Dreams. I haven't so perhaps they can tell their personal stories.

I was a founding member of the now defunct Nova M radio station. It's most popular radio host Mike Malloy, who was once a Ralp Nader supporter, decided to shut down any negative discussion about the Obama candidacy when he threw his hat in the ring for him. In fact, he read a letter from a very dear friend of mine on air and bashed the hell out of her because she didn't agree that all democrats should get behind Obama.

There are hundreds of stories like this of the left censoring dissent. If you don't support the dems no matter how much they vote against the wishes of true progressives, you aren't worthy to comment on their blogs or waste their valuable radio air space.

  3. I assume I was banned for being critical of one of their editors. I broke none of the rules, I was simply harshly criticizing one of their editors blatant pushing of the Hegelian Dialect in one of his recent appearances on FOX News.

After which I was unceremoniously booted off OEN.

  4. Mr M

i was banned for doing the same, then asking if Common Dreams had an "invisible donor" problem and mentioned George Soros as a possible person s well as Obama, Soros, Goldman Sachs and by extention the Democrats making cash from the foreclosure crisis.

    Boom. Gone.

I am working with Peter from Project Censored. Lets see what becomes of this.

  5. I have not the slightest idea why I was banned by OEN. I wrote one hello to COTO and the shutters were up.

  6. The MSM networks are censoring:

    - 9/11 Truth
    - Genocide / human rights abuse in China
    - Breakthroughs of research into cold fusion
    - Other energy breakthroughs
    (e.g. water powered cars)

And now, after they spent a year disparaging the tea party movement, they are building up the coffee party movement. (Evidently, they feel comfortable that they can control the script at the coffee party. It is led by a former Obama campaign operative.)

Further to the suppression of "left" blogs, perhaps Peter should interview David Sirota.

Sirota is an interesting case, a syndicated columnist with a couple of best selling books. At first I admired him for taking on the globalization of free trade, then later I was dismayed that he will disparage 9/11 truthers.

The thing is that MSNBC considered, and then passed, on giving him a show right after Rachel Maddow. He became a broadcaster with a radio show in one local / metro market, Denver.

So, he was almost going to be a national face basically "inside the beltway," but what turned out is that he's "outside the beltway." He may feel pushed away from the centers of power.

Recently he has tweeted about his "disgust at the Professional Left in DC/NY - mags, pundits, grasstops orgs." Here are three recent tweets:

Kinda gross to watch Obama & the Professional Left pretend giving away billions to health insurance companies is a major victory over health insurance companies.

I don't spend a lot of time with regret, but lately I've found myself pondering what life might have been like had I made different professional / career choices. I wonder where I might have been had I decided to dance to the Man's tune.

Conclusion: Politics is a shitty DC reality show starring bad pundits, worse writers & hideous politicians - and We the Sheeple are valued - if at all - only as a laugh track.

    and

I believe three is the limit.

Peter wants to hear about "apparent deliberate and organized suppression of “left” blogs"? Where has Peter been for the past 10 years? Prior to 9/11, I blogged on "left" blogs mainly to get the following two messages out, and I was censored:

#1) the two party system is a sham
#2) voting supports #1 so it would be better to take to the streets more often (demonstrations).

Things have changed since then. A load of people are now saying the same thing and I'm happy to say the body of wide awakes is made of of people from all corners.

Speaking of censorship on blogs, the really ugly stuff that would show you right up front where, how and why blog owners and admins have censored .....is usually removed from sight / deleted.

  8. Actually, we've recently seen a profound example of left censorship: Huffington Post putting up, and then taking down, Jesse Ventura's piece on 9/11. That act of censorship itself led to significant coverage because Ventura is on his book tour -- and to other press outlets, he howled about the censorship. So HuffPost has egg on its face, or call it a black eye or a bloody lip.

  9. Quite right, John. HuffPost has the most recent "egg on its face" while the trend of censorship on "left leaning" sites is a long one with multiple blogs / sites worth mentioning. 9/11 has been the most censored topic on most all sites, in my opinion, although the approach has been more of a deliberate saturating of misinfo + disinfo along the 9/11 blogging trail, but only because the topic cannot successfully be censored or stifled.

I've recently reverted to using facebook to get some bits and pieces of truth out and my experience is that my "friends" on facebook will either drop me as a friend altogether in an attempt to avoid the ugly truth whereas the smatter facebook users take measures to block certain content from being displayed on their facebook walls - a stranger form of censorship, one from the bottom up, a form of sticking one's head in the sand and singing la la la la ..... I don't care what you say .... la la la la while the ugly truth refuses to go away. Having said that, we have a lot of active people to thank for keeping up the good work while others such as OpEd's Leser, Kall & Sanchez (John) are hard at work trying to keep the two-party lie afloat.

Take a look at John Sanchez' user page on OEN, look at his comments. He's constantly defending the Left Wing of the Corporate Party and will attack anyone who puts the Dems down or dares to write anything which would expose the Party.

  10. THis is an example of the Triad. When the Neo-Lib is in power they are no different than the Neo-Cons. It's pretty elementary for us. You can paint stripes on the donkey and mules but they are what they are and that is extremists and administrators of a radical agenda for corporate and government governance.

Whoever comes in second place will cash the big check, but their incredible ego's and elitism still drive the competition.

Michael, one of OEN's editors contacted me privately and praised my articles which largely focused on the assassination and wellstoning by both teams.

As John K. says, they are censoring key issues. I was banned after getting rejected on a few articles that focused on Clinton as an example of Rhodes Scholarships/Bilderberg/RIIA and the Presidency. It is from these stink tanks that the 'deciders' are decided.

I was rejected on an article regarding Clinton and the war crimes involving Suharto, Bosnia and the Cuban embargo.

But the axe fell when the COTO purge happened. I believe Rob saw a movement of people organizing with the common principle of the two party system as just a two headed phoenix bent on a new world order.

OEN and Rob were just allowing this conspiracy talk while the election was in question. As if the Bilderberg meeting didn't decide it. Hillary was willing to be the second most powerful puppette and played it out well.

    Here's the best!!

Thank you for submitting an article to Op Ed News.
    You submitted an article titled:
Combat Without Cognizance - or Murder by Joystick?

Thank you but this kind of article is either commercial, out of date, or for some other reason doesn't work for us. (Articles are evaluated by a team of 20+ volunteer editors. We trust our editors. Any abuse by email is cause for banning from the site as a troll.)
    Op Ed News Administrator

Sorry. You have been banned; thus cannot send messages

Drone War, OUT OF DATE? Commercial? WTF is that?

What it was that I mentioned HAARETZ article on the war crimes committed during Operation Cast Lead and the fact I mentioned being Pro-Life though I reserve the right for women to choose.

Huffington Post and Daily Kos banned me after I made a single comment contrary to liberal ideals.

"Communist Dreams" did not like the way I referred to them as well.

  11. Michael C....

...I don't have any link per your request to help w/ a story. But in my bass playing way, I will offer that a spoon still cuts through concrete, albeit very, very slowly.
    I say: Spoon for fairness.
The paradigm: What do we see? The negative "being banned" or the positive "being freed"?

Telling a lie wounds. Hiding a truth kills.

The guardians of 'human fairness' will always do the scraping. On scarred knees, with blistered hands and for the ones that follow them, will they dig. So that they will see.

    Suppression is always a denial.

The truth is colorblind. At the autopsies of the unfair brotherhoods, the results will reveal that pieces of each others asshole were lodged between their glistening teeth.

    peace
