The Birth of COTO

superbaby

Date of Birth:  Thursday January 22, 2009 @ 10:12 am

Some of you may be wondering how and when COTO first came to be.  Scroll down to Mr M's first comment to see how a small,  ragtag band of dissidents at Oen threw off the derogatory title "the Darkness Gallery"  given to them by that  suppressor of  truth and oppressor of free speech,  Rob Kall, and became forever known as the Coalition of the Obvious....

  1. Was I condescending? Maybe just once ...

I made that one statement where I said the people are too clever for the elites.

  3. I don't remember seeing this article in January, but my reaction to similar posts was much like Rady's-- affinity groups are a good thing!

Many thanks again to Jerseygirl for thinking of me as COTO too!

  5. That article was posted January 21, 2009, Mr M's (alleged) first mention of the Coalition Of The Obvious on very next day.

The site owner, I forgot his name, kept using the phrase "doom and gloom gallery" I believe it was. But prior to that, reaching back into 2008, the site owner, his name STILL escapes me, was using a phrase entirely apart from yet very much connected with both other phrases, as he stepped up his personal cyberjihad against online dissent on his site, the site he was taking to market, the site he bathed, dressed up, drenched in perfume, put way too much lipstick and eye shadow on before dropping it off on a corner in that questionable part of town called MSM, hoping to be able to score enough to buy himself a new pair of shoes to go along with the new bald spot on the back of his head.

    I'm referring to the "no-voters".

  6. COTO? I had to learn later.

Perhaps OEN had its "regulars" and its "casual or occasionals," and I was in the latter category. I didn't lean in to follow the blow-by-blow day by day. Eventually, there came this message exchange:

    To: Mr M
    From: John Kusumi
    Sent: Wednesday, March 25, 2009 5:49:21 PM

    What the heck is COTO?

I've seen you use that acronym in many comments, but without definition, explanation, or elaboration....

    ??

[Reply follows:] Message from Mr M
    Date Sent: 03/25/2009
Subject: COTO Coalition Of The Obvious

    Message:

It all started about a year ago when Rob would refer to those of us that more or less agree with each other about a shadow government, or point out certain uncomfortable facts as the "darkness gallery."

I replied that indeed many of the things we brought up were not very, shall we say, happy things to talk about, but were none the less obvious and needed to be addressed, so I said we were more like a "coalition of the obvious" for the things we discussed were indeed before everyone's eyes, but we were the only one's that dared bring them up for discussion.

Hence COTO got it's handle ...

You're welcome to join, all it takes is the ability to call them as you see them. There's no dues or fees. But you will from time to time receive some flak from certain editors on OEN.

  8. Curt... yea "doom & gloomers". Sometimes reality just isn't pretty,eh?

Calling the left gatekeepers out, exposing 9/11 truth, pointing out both parties are corrupt, proving by examples that the new boss is same as the old boss...

Yessir, such pessimistic gloomy talk just isn't allowed in the land of happy faced spin.

  10. I would also be interested to know the origins of JerseyGirl's handle. Four or five women became publicly known as widows of 9/11 victims and were called the Jersey Girls. Are you one of them? An authentic 9/11 widow?

(And if so, my condolences. 9/11 was certainly a political hit job -- even if it wasn't that at first, it became that as the U.S. media/propaganda machine went to work using it for geopolitical purposes. If the anchormen were not accessories during the fact, they became accessories after the fact, enforcing a bizzare sort of "political correctness" around 9/11. Hear no evil. See no evil. Speak no evil. And make like nobody in the U.S. security establishment deserved to be questioned or fired -- that's a real tip off, to a guilty demeanor on the part of U.S. authorities!)

  11. Rady, if at times we sounded condescending, it came from being continuously derided by the likes of RK, SL, ET, PL. and a host of others. I'm sure you can imagine how frustrating it was to be called all kinds of names by those guys for our opinions. They think they have all the answers and we are just a bunch of crazy, far left, conspiracy theorists. At every turn, they called us tin foil hatters and gloom & doomers for our opinions yet somehow THEY got away with their ad hominems. While we were flagged every single time.

There was no justice in that place that will not be named. GOOD RIDDANCE !

  13. No John, I'm not one of the 9/11 widows though I too am a great admirer of those courageous women. They still have a very long list of questions that were never answered by the commission.

One of the very best 9/11 films is their " 9/11 Press for Truth." If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you watch it. It's full of overlooked news clips & buried stories. Exactly what you're talking about in regards to the msm.
If you or anyone else here would like a copy, I can send it to you.

Who among us can imagine the degree of shame that will come upon us and our children when the veil falls from our faces and the awful crimes that infinitely exceed any human measure are exposed to the light of day?"

  15. Rady,

Thanks for linking to this. I remember the article, but did not catch the significance of COTO at the time. I suppose not many did.

It indeed is odd that some unspecified relationship to an "affinity group" should be somehow grounds for dismissal. It is hard not to suspect Mr. Kall's motives on this. Did someone use the word "sanitize" above? Perhaps "sterilize" would be more apropos?

  16. Perhaps he was told in 'no uncertain terms'..... "Young man, if you want to play where the 'big boys' play... you gotta... (add your own)" Or maybe... he merely surmised that to achieve he 'great success', he had to ditch the truth.

  17. Medicis,

He may have been told, or he may have decided he needed to clean up the riff raff in order to make a sale. Can't miss those opportunities. In any case he has lost my respect.
