Fed to Hire PR Wizard to Fight Against HR 1207

money-bags

As HR 1207 gains momentum and co-sponsors in the House of Representatives, the Federal Reserve is planning to fight the tide calling for an audit of its books by hiring a veteran lobbyist to “manage its relations with Congress,” according to Reuters.

HR 1207 would “amend title 31, United States Code, to reform the manner in which the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System is audited by the Comptroller General of the United States and the manner in which such audits are reported, and for other purposes.”

The Fed plans to hire Linda Robertson, who previously worked for now-defunct energy company Enron, as well as the Clinton administration. She is currently head of government, community and public relations at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Robertson “spent eight years in senior positions at the Treasury Department, working for three secretaries: Lloyd Bentsen, Robert Rubin and Lawrence Summers,” a bio posted on The John Hopkins University website states.

  1. I also read that someone in congress was attempting to water down the bill so that they could only authorize auditing "one named entity" within the Federal Reserve's accounting. Do you know anything about that? Have you heard if that is now part of the bill?

also, concerning the lobbyist hired... check this out and let me know what you think of it, please.

  2. As you write: "If you go to this BM website you can watch Dana Perino in an interview discussing the Huffington Post’s progressive website.

Perino is explaining how HuffPo has given up the “edgy” news angle and gone more “mainstream”. This is a shift that Dana clearly approves of and says it’s going to increase their respectability."

Sounds pretty familiar doesn't it. This is an excellently documented piece! (I'm assuming Willie and Scott are both you?)

Considering BM and etc are all on someone's payroll and have envelopes full of cash, we are up against it to expect Congress to work for the people instead of shill for the Corps.

I don't see any amendments yet. You can track this and related bills at:

  3. Between the corporations and the government seat-fillers we "elect" there isn't a breath of difference. The way they move back and forth from one to the other, you can't tell the difference anymore. The problem is, they are now moving beyond the media empires and the newpapers and reaching out to what they consider a more effective medium for them to promote their messages; blogs. I think they know they have to move now to get the dissidents marginalized and the blogs under control before the bloom wilts off their Obama-Rose.

Yes, Hi... I'm Scott... nice to meet you.
