William Alexander Chilton 12/28/50 – 3/17/10

ALEX CHILTON

[Chilton was taken to the hospital in New Orleans on March 17, 2010, complaining of health problems, and died the same day of a heart attack. According to his wife, Laura (who married Chilton in August 2009), at least twice in the week before his fatal heart attack, Chilton experienced shortness of breath and chills while cutting the lawn. However, he did not seek medical attention, she said, in part because he had no health insurance.]

I did not know until today that he had died. As a teenage guitarist he was underrated. As for lip synchronization, I think the BOX TOPS were overrated. :)

  1. Sad. Another of our generation to go. I liked the box tops. Thanks for posting this Patrick, I hadn't heard. It's funny but I always find one little part of a song that I listen for. At the very end of this one, as the song fades away, he says... "you left the water runnin' now"..that's the line I listened for in this one :)

  2. I've been having heart problems lately, nothing serious. Extra-systoles I've had all my life have intensified to the point of being almost unbearable. It is any uneasy feeling when your heart skips a beat and flutters. At (almost ;-) ) age 50, I can say it's too early. This artist was ten years older. Still, too early. I'm glad to hear he didn't have to go through a prolonged period of illness and suffering. Thanks for posting this PD.

Believe it or not, this is one of my all time favourites. I had no idea it was from him, until a few seconds ago.

  3. Sorry to hear about your heart trouble Curt. My friend's brother is going through the exact same problem. He's even gone to the hospital a few times because of it thinking he's having a heart attack.

I've felt that flutter feeling a few times and it's kinda scary when suddenly your heart makes it's presence known like that. Gotta be a bummer having it all the time. Feel better :)

  4. I concur with JG, Curt. Take extra care of yourself. Don't let Ferkel stress you out.
I just made you Secretary of State in my administration, so I need you around.

I hope you are feeling better. I had those flutters and jumps you and JG mention and when I went to the doctor he said it was allergies causing these effects [histamines] Then I would have an anxiety attack as well. They are scary and annoying.

I took natural immunotherapy and it worked. I hope you keep your triglycerides and cholestorol in control.

Extra-systoles are common though, you don't have any other issues regarding your heart do you?

  5. Secretary of State? I can type, so that kinda fits ;-)
    I'm flattered. Thank you PD.

Thanks to both of you. As far as I know, the extra-systole are the only irregularities ailing me in the heart region. I've done the regular tests and will see my cardiologist in July. I'm certain she will tell me to quit smoking, quit the beer and the single malt and to exercise more often...not that it will help.

Secretary of State, hmmmm. What's a Sexytary gotta do in your state, PD? Other than type, that is. Oh shit, Sillary is ...oh no. I can do better than that! My first task would be to fly to Tehran to congratulate Ahmadinejad on his most recent speech. Dude ripped ass, again!
