I know this is silliness... but... in accord with Patrick and lest I seem crude or banal... but the glasses are very nice. Always was in love from way back on OEN. Perhaps it is the third Black Russian... I cannot look at truly sobering news sober. What ever it is .. it is coming.. probably end of sept or in oct. Too many events coming to fruition... to a head. Circling the wagons a la JG... wish I had a wagon or two and someplace to circle them. Here in the piedmont of NC. Just settled my son into his new digs at UNCG... 2.5 hours away... two and a half hours away. Seven hours to get to where we'd need to be if I went to retrieve him... even in the 928. I've worked on and gotten his car in as good a shape as when it rolled off the line. He knows what is coming down. He knows much of what we know. He knows where to go. But I worry anyway. This is his first time away. I'm a divorced dad... and I had no clue it would be this lonely. And more than just worrisome given what we all know. And forgive me for being personal...

Yes, I always looked for you on oen too, You are a brilliant rebel.. a killer combo in my book. Oen was good for something. It brought us all together here in this place and time. Wish we were closer. We could raise our glasses of black russians or in my case green apple martini (I'm such a girl) in a toast to this rag tag group we call coto. How I long for that. The closer we get to "whatever" the more I wish we could all gather nightly at my house or wherever to discuss the days events as they unfold.
Don't apologize for getting personal. It's a good thing. We are all going through our own personal hell of worry these days. Feel free to vent anytime. I can imagine how you feel about your son being hours away.. My family is 20 mins away and I worry that's too far when the other shoe drops. My daughter is pregnant with her second child due in February. Can you imagine how worried I am too?
I think it's cool you rebuilt that car for your son. You're a good dad and it sounds like you've obviously educated your son very well in the ways of the world. I'm sure he'll be fine. Sounds like Dr. Rick has been busy getting his life back to chaos again. I did it 10 years ago. Alone since. Glad I stopped drinking too as if I had not I'd be on a plane to New Jersey or tweeting my sixpack abs around. Celibacy has it's rewards as George Castanza found out, but it does have a downside too.
I hope the good doc will stick around and spruce the place up some.
CT was my favorite until the edge of darkness which has taken first place in my book. That's just the kind movie to warm the cockles of coto and fry the butts of the Military-Industrial-Congressional- Complex. They all got represented in this masterpiece.
