Boomer Sings

We have talent spilling over here. Not only Mister M's talents, Flaks great writing and the artistry of Johns cars and his daughters paintings but now we have Boomers songs which he writes and performs.  Visit the COTO site members and listen to two great cuts he recorded.

Applesauce and Butterscotch Skies and One Thing

The Shark Face is really close to what I look like too, P.D.

Cheers. Music is for the People.

  2. Partially influenced by Zappa & Sesame Street, A&B Skies?

Excellent music! I love the background singing on A&B Skies.

Music is King, it bridges gaps. Thanks for sharing.

  3. I'm far more ugly and vicious looking than you my friend.

  4. One thing" sounds of a Zydeco tune. Curt I cant tell you how badly I miss Frank and the best musician who ever banded. It was Zappa who had me thinking he was ET. Too far ahead of the rest.

And I should have mentioned your terrific "One minute mysteries" as well, Curt. This may end up becoming a very eclectic bohemian portal if they don't kill us all first!

A & B Skies is about using our imagination to create "possibilities" in our life and world. I wrote the verses when I was 23, and it took about 25 years since that time to get around to figuring out what I was thinking, and write the chorus and record the song.

Remember when you were a child (pre-socialized)? You would think out-of-the-box as your normal way of thinking. {I think M pursues this endeavor successfully with his "toons"}.

Maybe things you saw with your eyes had "flavors" too -- Mmm, that sunset looks so beautiful I can "taste" it? Why couldn't flowers in a field be gumdrops? Why not?

    We didn't know any better.

But society did a great job helping us fit all of our thinking into nice little boxes to contain us (walls -- I hate em).

So the song is about how we as adults, if we can get back to the freedom of thought, the no parameters thinking we original came into the world with, our world might be an entirely more beautiful and fun and creative place. Who knows what we're capable of, if we allow ourselves the freedom to explore...

A lot of us grow up, and forget how to "play". Here's an irony -- I have to "work" at making the time to "play". Odd...

Its a peaceful song that's supposed to take you to a happy place full of possibilities. I hope it does.

  6. No truer words spoken here, Boom. Not only have they societized our children in an accelerated manner over the years since the baby boom, but they have corrupted the program itself.

There's no letting the young mind investigate the joy of discovery anymore. It's all segmented, backed up and catalogued like so many hard disks.

Now they are trying to develop pre-packaged programming in the womb. So goes my latest header. I like to pick on IBM, but they are in league with several other "NWO's points of light"

Smarter Planet my ass. Happiness killers, the lot of them.

  7. PD, are you kidding? As a writer, I'm only beginning to learn to crawl and my diapers are full to the brim (writing is scary). Boom on the other hand is blessed with what I would call REAL talent ;-) He has a terrific voice. Sorry, but I really needed to set that straight.

  8. Boom........love your music, your words, your soul and your voice with which you unload your peaceful weapon. In honor of all our children and art, I salute you and all who shall not back down.
    peace

  9. Unfortunately, I can't listen to the tunes on this computer for some reason. Nothing happens when I click on the tabs. I'll try at work tomorrow because I really do want to hear you sing boom :)

Thanks Mikel. I do what I do. Try and create something that isn't hurtful, but uplifting. We can only give it our best, and try and summon the energy, no matter what form it takes.

Aye, JG. They're MP3 tunes, so your itunes and windows media player will recognize them. I don't know, you might have to specify what they are...?

I kinda felt you, of all my COTO friends might "feel" what I was trying to say. Yet, PD has surprised me! Hey, it was his idea to put them up here, so kudos PD.

And look -- he's getting serious with the stuff he's putting up lately! Right ON!
