Too Big To Sach

[caption id="attachment_23673" align="alignleft" width="360"]GoldmanSachsGlobal Goldman Sachs Contains 4,000 Separate Corporate Entities
by JacobSloan on July 24, 2013 in News
Including more than 739 companies based in the Cayman Islands alone. Common Dreams on the staggering webs woven by multinationals as they split and grow, bringing to mind primitive, blob-like life forms expanding and engulfing their surroundings:
The London-based Open Data Institute has collected and mapped ccorporate data, much of it made public for the first time, showing the complex relationships between multinational companies and their global subsidiaries. Stunning visuals on the corporate networks of the six biggest banks in the U.S. – Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo, Citigroup and JP Morgan – show the tangled webs they weave.

  2. Chris Hedges: As a Socialist, I Have No Voice in Corporate Media.

So there we have it, Hedges is a Socialist.

As much as I enjoy and agree with so much of Hedges' critique and analysis, I find "Socialism" to be the height of political/economic naïveté. It is reliant on a powerful central state, therefor it is another form of statism.

Once the citizens realiz they can vote for more bread and circuses, our ultimate demise is set in motion.

So often mentioned is “crony capitalism” - rarely mentioned is “crony socialism”, and the one is not exclusive from the other; as “cronyism” is the nature of groups of human beings.

  3. FOR ROUGHLY FIVE HUNDRED YEARS, INDIGENOUS peoples have been struggling against the dominant institutions of society, against imperialism, colonialism, exploitation, impoverishment, segregation, racism, and genocide. The struggle continues today under the present world social order and against the dominant institutions of ‘neoliberalism’ and globalization: the state, corporations, financial institutions and international organizations. Indigenous communities continue to struggle to preserve their cultural identities, languages, histories, and the continuing theft and exploitation of their land. Indigenous resistance against environmental degradation and resource extraction represents the most direct source of resistance against a global environmental crisis which threatens to lead the species to extinction. It is here that many in the scientific community have also taken up the cause of resistance against the destruction of the global environment. While Indigenous and scientific activism share similar objectives in relation to environmental issues, there is a serious lack of convergence between the two groups in terms of sharing knowledge, organizing, and activism.~Andrew Gavin Marshall

  4. "To address the environmental crisis in a meaningful way, this reality must first be acknowledged. This is how an anarchistic understanding of the environmental crisis facing the world and humanity can contribute to advancing how we deal with these profound issues. For the sciences, the implications are grave: their sources of funding and direction for research are dependent upon the very institutions which are destroying the environment and leading humanity to inevitable extinction (if we do not change course). Advancing an anarchistic approach to understanding issues related to Indigenous repression and resistance to environmental degradation can help provide a framework through which those in the scientific community – and elsewhere – can find new avenues for achieving similar goals: the preservation of the environment and the species."

  8. Alfred McCoy - development of the surveillance state:

For over one hundred years U. S. government authorities have imported draconian police state techniques and technology developed overseas back to the American homeland, whether involving torture, surveillance, and suspension of human rights and liberties, using the overseas country as a laboratory for counterinsurgency and rearming local security forces for repression. We saw evidence of this recently on the streets in Boston and Watertown with martial law maneuvers used in Iraq and Afghanistan.

From suppressing the Filipino Insurrection following the Spanish-American War to the destructive counterinsurgency campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq, these martial exercises in unlawful, extra-constitutional behavior have continued unabated. And like the prodigal son of New Testament scriptures, they have come home.

Even here I would lobby for banishing such skinhead racist shit. Jones is right about one thing - it makes him look bad, very bad!

  10. "Watching the ongoing retardo dialogue between materialist science and religion continues to amuse me to no end as an Occultist. I mean, both camps should be giving each other high fucking fives. You both hate altered states of consciousness. You are each other’s greatest allies in stunting logical inquiry into the topic. Before any of us can remember, the church got inside science’s head and told them not to tread on their turf by studying experiential inner phenomenon like near death experiences and psychedelic drugs. Science folded like a bitch and has now completely sold itself on its own nonsensical spiritual ignorance.

In the other corner, there’s the most belittled fringe minority in the universe going, errr, why’d we reject all that shamanism stuff? I took mushrooms and stared into a transcendent cognitive eternity. I did it a bunch of times. Isn’t that the sort of thing shamanism was based on? Maybe those folks who didn’t give a shit about killing the planet were onto something after all. Not so much with the not creating the internet thing though. And that’s the main issue I have with both overly scientific and excessively religious freaks. When faced with a world of increasing complexity, why on earth would you believe that somehow spirituality would be insanely simplistic? For the religious nut, some book from 2000 years ago holds all the answers to the universe and you’re judged based on what you did or didn’t do with your pussy. For science geeks, nothing to see here. Get it, we don’t have to study altered states of consciousness because they’re “not real”. What do you not understand about this? Well..."~Thad McKraken

  17. This is an interesting take on the Hastings murder:

    Why Was Hastings Murdered?

Hastings and Snowden had contact with each other through an off-the-books WikiLeaks contributor named Israel Shamir. Hastings was preparing to release what Snowden was holding as leverage against the US government. The mere fact that Snowden is in Russia is highly significant. Snowden’s information has also paralyzed our country’s foreign policy efforts.

Nine months ago, Russia and China threatened the United States with war if they invaded Syria and/or Iran. This is well documented. It is also well-documented that this conflict between Iran and the United States was over the preservation of the exclusive use of the Petrodollar. As I have documented, Iran began selling their oil for gold to Russia, China and India.

Federal Reserve stooge, President Obama, has been beating the war drums with Syria and Iran in an effort to stop the undermining of the Petrodollar. Invasion of Syria and then Iran was imminent, last fall, until China and Russia reacted so strongly. Therefore, Obama used the fallback position of arming al-Qaeda, as he did in Libya, in the hopes of toppling Assad through a CIA inspired revolution and opening the door to making Iran the next victim. However, something has dramatically changed and, at least temporarily, derailed the invasion plans.

Within three hours of the body being found, my Lord Hutton had been engaged to chair an ad hoc inquiry, by my Lord Falconer as Dr Watt has already described. Miles Goslett recently reported in the Mail that Hutton had confirmed in a letter to Norman Baker MP that he had been asked to meet Lord Chancellor Falconer in his Lord’s office around noon of the 18th July and that he agreed to serve.(6) At that point the subject, David Christopher Kelly CMG DSc had not been identified and no cause of death had been established. This fixer was a friend of Blair’s when they were in chambers studying law! He had assisted his friend the PM in bolstering the claim that there was a legal basis for a massive bombardment and invasion of Iraq rather than it being a supreme war crime as defined at Nuremberg."

  29. When sheeple consider 911, they rarely bounce to the Patriot Act. A redefining of "you are with us or against us" using the term patriot. Clever yet, obvious to coto. What the 'base' CIAda developed was a group of double agents who in the triple cross would infiltrate the anarchist and sovereign resistance to world order and dissect and decimate them, assuming the persona of freedom fighters and terrorist. Mujihadeen, being a perfect example. The war on trade and on drugs were the cover for gladio type installations.

The networks were more or less trafficking points for the funding and distribution of narco-terrorists that can easily be tracked from south america to europe to asia. Where the killing fields are, so are the crops, processors and distributors. Aghan-China to Bosnia-Herz to Colombia-Panama. Not allegations but proven, the CIA has been forced to set up new points since the revelations of Mena Airport, Noriega, Iran Contra-Colombia, Venezuela, Benghazi, Sinoloa-Mexico
    (fast & furious), etc.

Mind Controlled Reagan's 'war on drugs' was GHW Bush, the drug kingpin was instrumental in making the freebase crack program to kill blacks and useless eaters in America. Perfect use the the Golden triangle that works around the globe today. It's purpose to kill and create a criminal justice dept, protection racket while developing the largest prison state in the world. Drug treament centers-MKUltra, bogus money schemes in Methadone clinics and other benefits were privatized under this crony conceived process. When the committee creates these memes and programs they understand the fallout from religion and science, as they have corrupted both, using them to continue their acquisition and control over them. I accept the partial truth of all sides of the triangle. It's a gleaning and deduction process. The reality lies within each and is different. What is truth is independent of any reality and I do not believe it can be seen, heard or learned by any experience in this fabricated realm. Knowing this is freedom, beyond that it is all false flags, force and farce.

  39. Kelly was a Marine Corps Reserve Colonel, Director of Police under the United Nations Mission in Haiti, and an Interpol Vice President. During the Clinton administration, Kelly served as Treasury Department Under Secretary for Enforcement, as Customs Service Commissioner, and was in the running to become the first United States Ambassador to Vietnam, after President Bill Clinton extended full diplomatic relations to that country in 1995.

The first World Trade Center terrorist attack occurred on February 26, 1993 while Kelly was Police Commissioner under Mayor Dinkins (1992 to 1994), and Kelly led his department through the investigation of the bombing.
After his handling of the World Trade Center bombing in 1993, he was mentioned for the first time as a possible candidate for FBI Director.

Under Bloomberg, Commissioner Kelly also revamped New York City's Police Department into a world-class counter-terrorism operation, operating in conjunction with the CIA.

An August 2011 article by the Associated Press reported the NYCPD's extensive use of undercover agents (colloquially referred to as “rakers”[25] and “mosque crawlers”[26]) to keep tabs, even build databases, on stores, restaurants, mosques. and clubs.
"The FBI was reportedly so concerned about the legality of the NYPD's program that it refused to accept information that came out of it."[28] Valerie Caproni, the FBI's general counsel, told the AP that the FBI is barred from sending agents into mosques looking for leads outside of a specific investigation and said the practice would raise alarms. "If you're sending an informant into a mosque when there is no evidence of wrongdoing, that's a very high-risk thing to do," she was quoted as saying. "You're running right up against core constitutional rights. You're talking about freedom of religion."

It is nearly impossible now to walk a block in lower Manhattan without being on television. There are 2,000 cameras, and soon there will be 3,000 -- all of which feed into this control center housed in a secret location.

Technology built specifically for the NYPD includes radiological and nuclear detectors on boats, radiation detectors on helicopters and trucks, and detectors on cops' gun belts so sensitive that people who've had medical procedures may trigger them.

And Lower Manhattan now includes thousands of surveillance cameras that can identify shapes and sizes of unidentified "suspicious" packages and can track people descriptions, like, "someone wearing a red shirt," within seconds.

  43. Role Reversal: How the US Became the USSR

I spent the summer of 1961 behind the Iron Curtain. I was part of the US-USSR student exchange program. It was the second year of the program that operated under auspices of the US Department of State. Our return to the West via train through East Germany was interrupted by the construction of the Berlin Wall. We were sent back to Poland. The East German rail tracks were occupied with Soviet troop and tank trains as the Red Army concentrated in East Germany to face down any Western interference.

Fortunately, in those days there were no neoconservatives. Washington had not grown the hubris it so well displays in the 21st century. The wall was built and war was avoided. The wall backfired on the Soviets. Both JFK and Ronald Reagan used it to good propaganda effect.

In those days America stood for freedom, and the Soviet Union for oppression. Much of this impression was created by Western propaganda, but there was some semblance to the truth in the image. The communists had a Julian Assange and an Edward Snowden of their own. His name was Cardinal Jozef Mindszenty, the leader of the Hungarian Catholic Church.

Mindszenty opposed tyranny. For his efforts he was imprisoned by the Nazis. Communists also regarded his as an undesirable, and he was tortured and given a life sentence in 1949.

Freed by the short-lived Hungarian Revolution in 1956, Mindszenty reached the American Embassy in Budapest and was granted political asylum by Washington. However, the communists would not give him the free passage that asylum presumes, and Mindszenty lived in the US Embassy for 15 years, 79% of his remaining life.~Paul Craig Roberts

  56. Without advertising them as such, Japan has many socialist aspects, and I would consider it perhaps the world's most successful socialist system. I think the addition of Confucianism helped it a lot. People expect the bureaucracy to be benevolent, so they are very supportive of a centralized system as long as it toes the line in certain important ways. The problems you mentioned, however, are apparent. A lot of cronyism and corruption in the form of money-making schemes in ways the people here will tolerate, such as through the medical system. Fukushima is steeped in scandals that might be this world's undoing, and it is all done with a painted smiley face that doesn't manage to fool anyone currently.

They are not a pure socialist system, by any means. They've been known for predatory capitalism as well, and with further pressure from the West to liberalize their markets (e.g., allow Monsanto in), they may go tripping down the same slippery slope as America, but I think there will be more resistance here. People are not enamored of capitalism in Japan.

  57. I always found the Japanese to be hard working. Socialist or charitable programs can work well in this kind of populace. Not the US and it's lazy, stupid and ignorant attitude towards work and the quality of the work they do. Too many years of destructive mind control to believe you get rich the easy way by lying cheating conning and stealing. Adding entitlement to this was the kiss of death.

Now that there are no jobs I can't prove the point but if there were jobs, a large chunk of this fat ass would still be grifting through the system.

I'm sure Japan has seen some of this trend over the thirty years I have been gone. I still admire their honor in work ethic.
