Well, that puts it clear enough. But there is another aspect to it as well; Amerikans really don't give a shit. They are as a whole, even too stupid to give a shit about their own self interests. Devolved to 21st century schizoid man...baby booboo bs train.

  2. What they should do is shut down all of the schools. Each and every one, and set those children free. Schools are nothing but prisons at any rate. All they are meant for is indoctrination.

Get rid of "standardized education" and break all the TVs and we are most of the way to reality, a place way too many of unfamiliar with.

  3. Granville Stanley Hall – one of the lunatics that built the asylum.
    (February 1, 1844 – April 24, 1924)

Darwin's theory of evolution and Ernst Haeckel's recapitulation theory were large influences on Hall's career. These ideas prompted Hall to examine aspects of childhood development in order to learn about the inheritance of behavior. The subjective character of these studies made their validation impossible. He believed that as children develop, their mental capabilities resemble those of their ancestors and so they develop over a lifetime the same way that species develop over aeons.

His work also delved into controversial portrayals of the differences between women and men, as well as the concept of racial eugenics. Hall believed that men and women should be separated into their own schools during puberty because it allowed them to be able to grow within their own gender.

Hall was deeply wedded to the German concept of Volk, an anti-individualist and authoritarian romanticism in which the individual is dissolved into a transcendental collective. Hall believed that humans are by nature non-reasoning and instinct driven, requiring a charismatic leader to manipulate their herd instincts for the well-being of society. He predicted that the American emphasis on individual human right and dignity would lead to a fall that he analogized to the sinking of Atlantis.

"Being an only child is a disease in itself."~Hall

Hall consistently argued against intellectual attainment at all levels of public education. Open discussion and critical opinions were not to be tolerated.

Students needed indoctrination to save them from the individualism that was so damaging to the progress of American culture. Hall had no sympathy for the poor, the sick or those with developmental differences or disabilities. A firm believer in selective breeding and forced sterilization, Hall believed that any respect or charity toward those he viewed as physically, emotionally, or intellectually weak or "defective" simply interfered with the movement of natural selection toward the development of a super-race.

[In other words he was a fucking proto-Nazi]

It was Hall who along with one of his female protege's who started the first Kindergarten in the US. That is the Prussian model of schooling. He invented the term "adolescence" - which was the state of mind "education" was meant to instill in those who were interned in "schools" - forever jejune.

  4. Hypnosis and Enchantment...Chapter 4

"To fully realize that consciousness is a culturally learned event, balanced over the suppressed vestiges of an earlier mentality, then we can see that consciousness, in part, can be culturally unlearned or arrested. Learned features, such as analog ‘I,’ can under the proper cultural imperative be taken over by a different initiative, and one such instance is what we call hypnosis. The reason that that different initiative works in conjunction with the other factors of the diminishing consciousness of the induction and trance is that in some way it engages a paradigm of an older mentality than subjective consciousness."~Julian Jaynes

Will, couldn't agree with you more about the "education" system. Individualism shall NOT be tolerated. They want brain dead zombies that do what they are taught to do. Kids that stray from the line drawn are called ADD, ADHD or ODD and labeled problem kids that need medication.

    Love that Mark Twain quote.

I must concur there Rogue1 & Puddy. Rogue1 has named & isolated the 2 Main Shit Pipes screwed into humanities heads (particularly Boobus Americanus) delivering 24/7 Garbage & Propaganda, Disinformation & Mindfuck Manipulations, resulting in the vast fields of Amerikan Sheeple feeding mindlessly and mindlessly allowing their captors to rape everything outside the barbwire, with not even and acknowledging "baaaa" from the wool & meat providers.

The Matrix-like "system" is a monstrously evil man-made creation, and mankind's first "duty" is to realize they are enslaved or being enslaved by these "systems". Much can be pointed out, and considered carefully on this subject.

'The Moral Consciousness of the Khabiru'

"In the beginning the voices created heaven and earth."

The word for vagrants in Akkad, the language of Babylon, is khabiru and so these desert refugees are referred to on cuneiform tablets. And khabiru softened in the desert air, becomes Hebrew.
The story or imagined story of the later Khabiru or Hebrews is told in what has come down to us as the Old Testament."~Julian Jaynes

  13. This is the paragraph immediately following the quote above from the book by Julian Jaynes, I am adding it here as it has been since and previously established in several works that the following is quite accurate:

"We are immediately, however, presented with an orthological problem of immense proportions. For much of the Old Testament, particularly the first books, so important to our thesis, are, as is well known, forgeries of the seventh, sixth, and fifth centuries B.C., brilliant workings of brightly colored strands gathered from a scatter of places and periods.2 In Genesis, for example, the first and second chapters tell different creation stories; the story of the flood is a monotheistic rewrite of old Sumerian inscriptions; the story of Jacob may well date to before 1000 B.C., but that of Joseph, his supposed son, on the very next pages comes from at least 500 years later. It had all begun with the discovery of the manuscript of Deuteronomy in Jerusalem in 621 B.C. by King Josiah, after he ordered the temple cleaned and cleared of its remaining bicameral rites. And Khabiru history, like a nomad staggering into a huge inheritance, put on these rich clothes, some not its own, and belted it all together with some imaginative ancestry. It is thus a question whether the use of this variegated material as evidence for any theory of mind what-ever is even permissible."

Jaynes translates the Khabiru/Hebrew god's name thus:

    "Yahweh: He-who-is."

This should sound familiar and make sense when one recalls the story of Moses and the Burning Bush.

  14. Naomi Wolf:

"Finally in my experience, real whistleblowers are completely focused on their act of public service and trying to manage the jeopardy to themselves and their loved ones; they don’t tend ever to call attention to their own self-sacrifice. That is why they are heroes, among other reasons. But a police state would like us all to think about everything we would lose by standing up against it."

  15. "But do consider that in Eastern Germany, for instance, it was the fear of a machine of surveillance that people believed watched them at all times – rather than the machine itself – that drove compliance and passivity. From the standpoint of the police state and its interests – why have a giant Big Brother apparatus spying on us at all times – unless we know about it?"

  18. Deb,

As per your question about Julian Assange; I am not so certain that he is "state sponsored" as some of COTO are. It is one of those 'maybe yes/maybe no" situations.

Whatever the answer is, he has revealed much that needed revealing.
Snowden revealed much that has already been revealed, and especially at a prime time to confuse the headlines and disperse cognizance -- it is an obvious revetment and distraction maneuver.

But I am not going to argue for Assange anymore. I am just stating my opinion as minority as it may be here.

  19. "...one of my first thoughts about Edward Snowden was.. “what a royal name that is”. Perhaps that says it all?"~Deb

"When people learn no tools of judgment and merely follow their hopes, the seeds of political manipulation are sown." ~ Stephen Jay Gould

I would add to "follow their hopes" the idea that hopes is base on emotion rather than critical thinking skills.

What you are saying in the above is very much akin to "throwing lots", or 'divination' by "gut feelings" and is an association to what is put in a long chapter of Jaynes work on the the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind.

Now this is not an attribute to the bicameral mind, it is the act of "oracle thinking" as a reaction to the loss of the bicameral mind and the quest for the same sorts of certainty that accompanied the populations during the bicameral period.

As you probably know Divination comes in a myriad of techniques. One of the most common of these is 'intuition' - but intuition that is left as is - rather than sorting it out cognitively.

Edward is a common name for kings in the Anglo-Saxon heritage. Your mind keyed into this commonality to make associations. Do such associations really have bearing on the questions at hand? I would say that they do in such a vague way as to be a throw-away thought.

    But you may consider all I have said here as such a throw-away thought as well. I don't mind. I hope you don't either as the whole thing is as trivial as your remark in it's own fashion...{grin}

  20. This article fits well with the little video offering from Deb:

"Barack Obama was elected by evoking a future based on respect for the fundamental rights of individuals and nations. But assessment of his presidency reveals an entirely different picture. The visible aspects of this, such as the failure to close down Guantánamo Bay, the maintenance of exceptional military tribunals or the practice of torture in Afghanistan, are only the tip of the iceberg. These elements only allow us to note the continuity between the Bush and Obama administrations. However, there has been such reinforcement of the previous political structure that the form of the state has now changed, creating a hitherto unseen modification of the relation between the authorities and the citizens of the United States."

The continuity of government folks’ AI program and the Pentagon’s AI program may or may not be linked, but they both indicate massive spying and artificial intelligence in order to manipulate the American public, to concentrate power, to take away the liberties and freedoms of average Americans, and — worst of all — to induce chaos in order to achieve these ends.

Whatever happened to the principle of 'Innocent Until Proven Guilty'?

Whatever happened to admitting to oneself that there is not enough information to make an intelligent judgment? Concurrent to that, what is wrong with suspending judgment until more is discovered?

  26. "The exposure of the Obama regime’s use of the National Security Agency to secretly spy on the communications of hundreds of millions of US and overseas citizens has provoked world-wide denunciations."~Prof. James Petras

I find it interesting that someone of Prof. Petras' position and knowledge could actually begin a piece with a sentence of this sort. This is especially true when the title of the essay is: The Deeper Meaning of Mass Spying in America: Political and Economic Consequences of “The Spy State”

What I am pointing out here is that what is going on here clearly transcends the "Obama regime" and is a permanent state affair spanning some 66 years of continuity from the spawning of the National Security State in 1947.

The fact that the position of "President of the United States" is titular, that the president is in fact a 'talking puppet' taking orders from higher powers behind the scene, is veiled by the type of rhetoric used by academics such as the dear professor. Clearly the Obama regime isn't using the NSA. This regime is a temporary act in an ongoing play in-which NSA is a permanent fixture.

The essay is informative nevertheless if anyone wished to peruse it:

  28. Ben Rhodes, a 30-something who ascended from literally nowhere to be what seems a main driving force behind Obama's foreign policy. He is credited with convincing the president to embrace the Arab Spring, convincing the president to bomb Libya, and, now, convincing the president to start yet another war, this time against Syria.

Who is he? How did a 24-year old aspiring fiction-writer in 2002 (the only degree Rhodes holds is a Masters in Science-fiction writing.) suddenly become one of the drafters of not only the 9/11 Commission report but also the Iraq Study Group Report? (the latter got us into the Iraq war) Then move on to Obama's presidential campaign as a speechwriter and then to Deputy National Security Advisor, from which he announced the beginning of a US war on Syria while the president met with supporters in the East Room of the White House?

There might be some clues to his brother David's also improbable rise -- from a lowly production assistant at Fox News at the end of the 1990s to covering presidential elections for Fox News (including the one where his brother was writing Obama's speeches) to the lofty position of president of CBS news by 2011!

Rhodes recently defended the military aid Obama announced he's giving to Syria by calling it, " lethal, non-lethal aid ...".

Orwell must be rolling in his grave.

Rhodes also came-up with the gem phrase. "... kinetic military action ...," about our carpet-bombing of Libya.

Oh, and just one more thing; Rhodes is named as the source of the White House-altered CIA talking points on Benghazi.

To capsulize, Rhodes and his brother have worked both sides and all sides of the political spectrum, to one end -- to promote war. Covering-up for both Bush and Obama crimes and having a heavy-hand in being able to formulate policy.
