Occupy Wall Street - An Interview with Chris Hedges

This man is brilliant.  The best journalist out there today in my humble opinion and a humanitarian.  I've been an avid reader of his columns for years.    I heard only a tiny part of this interview, at the OWS protest, early this morning on the livestream feed.  Thankfully the entire interview was just posted on youtube and I could listen to it in it's entirety.  It's a real gem.

He speaks of Corporate Empire,  the fascist police state, where we are today and where we are headed. He discusses activism and how important it is for us to "physically throw our body in front of the machine". . ~jg

There are 6 parts to this video.   In the second video and thereafter, in the  upper right hand corner you will see a white box with the number that will take you to the next video in the series.

  2. I'm about finished listening to the 4th video. Superb! Thanks JG!

Americans are waking up (slowly). As their eyes begin to flutter open, and their minds begin to comprehend the drugged stupor that has kept them immobilized, they will start to "feel" again. It is like Americans have been sleep walking through a sitcom, while a real nightmare overtook the entire land. Waking up to realize they live in a fascist police state, waking up to realize they are Not Free, but "kenneled" beasts preyed upon at leisure by elitist vampires should really rock their world!

I hope emotions run hot, but are directed wisely. The sleeping sheep have a lot of catching up to do...

News bits are floating around everywhere. Here's one. Should be read with consideration.

  3. I read the White Hats blog...good info...rather high expectations for a state utterly taken over by usurpation though.

I sense that Merkah will simply continue to crumble...no restoration of the rule of law as long as the Zionists are in control - and no general awareness because of the Public Relations Regime.

The prognosis is not good...we are on our own. Dig it...it's okay.

  4. Good article,Boom ! I too believe the bastards are going to fall. Stuff like this has been leaking out like a sieve lately.

I've been saying here for a while now that I think there are people in high places behind the scenes waiting for more support from the american public as far as being awake to the vast corruption in govt and physically protesting it. OWS is the catalyst for the change about to come. As you know Hedges mentioned the protest in October coming up. The rage level in the people should be raised another whole octave by then.

It's coming to a head and the calvary might just be on the way. My attitude towards all of this has changed to a more positive one in recent months. I can't say exactly when or why but I do know it happened overnight. Maybe it's inspiration from the forces of good in the universe. I really do think they've got our back. Time will tell. But it sure as hell feels better to be "hopeful" then to assume automatically that the bad guys will win.

  5. Well...it has always been my bottom line that we, the good guys have already won - time just needs to catch up with that.

  6. Naomi Klein and Chris Hedges should make a baby. I think we'd finally get our second-coming.

Seriously, I don't think there's anyone who gets it better than Hedges does. He's a totally reluctant leader in what he promotes as a leaderless movement, but as long as someone like Hedges exists, there's still reason for hope.

  9. It is as Chris Hedges stated -- " people have to pull back and out of the consumerism culture ". i.e. materialism. For that matter, it seems synonymous with militarism.

Win! Conquer! Obtain as much as possible at all costs. The ends justifies the means. It is a race to the bottom of human nature's basest drives. Pillage, Plunder, Murder, Deceive, Force, Monopolize, Rape... with zero moral or conscience guilt slowing down the insane greed lust.

When you lean back against a shade tree on a warm, sunny day, and look out at the lake before you, the clear blue sky above, it just might become clear that the above description is no way to build future worth living in... it is a psychopathic quest for power, wealth, and self-serving hubris. At the expense of Everything around them.

It should be apparent to the World's Populations, that the political and financial elites who have been in positions of power for some time now -- have created a hell hole of a world. Their idea of a New World Order is a horror movie written in blood. A megalomaniac's wet dream.

Normal humans, those with compassion and a conscience must reject in the strongest terms and by every means available, any continuation of this rampaging cancer, this blitzkrieg of demons hell-bent on destroying the good and decent things upon this earth.

This earth is MY home. I won't allow it to become a dungeon.

Why do they Hate US so much? They hate us for our LOVE.

For the same reason Jesus was persecuted. Pick your own Prophet if you prefer.

Because we are hated for holding this moral value, this emotion in such high regard, should we stop loving?

Of course not!!! Love all the more.

What these caring brothers and sisters are doing at OWS is a form of loving others, by making a personal stand requiring sacrifice. I believe it is why the brutality of the police upon innocents irradiates our beings with its evil. Evil smashing into Love.

Which will win this contest? In the end, Love Triumphs.

Boom, though i am not a follower of the bible, who can not love the man in the new testament named Jesus? If we all followed his lead, the world would truly be a different and loving and peaceful place. Gandhi followed that lead as do all the peaceful protesters at OWS and around the world.

New York City was under siege this week. Decent folk cowered at home while two-bit thugs stalked our streets, guarding the self-important sociopaths invading Manhattan.

Yep, the United Nations’ General Assembly met as always at this time of year, plotting to grab more power over the world, and the NYPD milked that for all the overtime it could get.

Were you to stroll around the skyscrapers in midtown, you’d assume you’re in occupied territory. Cops – phalanxes of them – clog every intersection, and movable, metal barricades fence off whole streets, confining New York’s disarmed populace to sidewalks as though we pose some sort of threat. Recall that many of the dictators bloviating at the UN have hundreds or thousands of rapes and murders, a war or two, torture and often even genocide to their credit, not to mention the usual plunder and theft. Yet Our Rulers fret about protecting them from us.

  26. Bertrand Russell 1952:

I think the subject which will be of most importance politically is mass psychology. Mass psychology is, scientifically speaking, not a very advanced study... This study is immensely useful to practical men, whether they wish to become rich or to acquire the government. It is, of course, as a science, founded upon individual psychology, but hitherto it has employed rule-of-thumb methods which were based upon a kind of intuitive common sense. Its importance has been enormously increased by the growth of modern methods of propaganda. Of these the most influential is what is called ‘education’. Religion plays a part, though a diminishing one; the Press, the cinema and the radio play an increasing part.

  33. I've got a Berkey on my To Get list as well. A big one.

JG, don't think of it as scary regarding Goldman Sachs. Everybody should already grasp the "power cord" relationship of Goldman's turnstile door and breezeway shared with the corporate united states government evil clone. The "infestment" of this and prior administrations with GS vets tells us many things... The meme that they're "the best and the brightest" certainly doesn't hold with the mess they've created in the economy and policy decision purview. No, that was a "marketing" concept. It has become readily apparent that these individuals either possess something others don't have, or are missing something that others do have.

They're sociopaths, psychopaths, and narcissist personalities. They don't have a conscience, that they're missing among other important "traits". They have an uncommon drive for success, materially and power-wise. They believe they deserve their status as "players". Its just that they're depraved, so they play evil games with great glee.

I think it is very good that a "face" is put on these clowns who destroy every(body) with cheating schemes and insider games. With policy decisions that are morally criminal.

Ohhh, I look forward to the stories when the books are finally written on this criminal cabal. Matt Taibbi has already written a number of exposes for Rolling Stone.

All of these elitists think we don't "see" them, or that we can't do anything about their schemes. Wrong.

  37. “The argument for legitimate revolution follows from making the distinction between legitimate and illegitimate civil government. A legitimate civil government seeks to preserve the life, health, liberty and property of its subjects, insofar as this is compatible with the public good. Because it does this it deserves obedience. An illegitimate civil government seeks to systematically violate the natural rights of its subjects. It seeks to make them illegitimate slaves. Because an illegitimate civil government does this, it puts itself in a state of nature and a state of war with its subjects.” – Locke

This is why, when the American spirit was confronted with the devil, the soul was sold for mere pennies. Here was a boss you could believe in—you had to, he had you down on your knees with a knife to your throat before you could blink your eyes.

He is well practiced. He knows your kind, you have persecuted him for centuries. He demanded it, for he is the Golem, the Tall Mud Man.

    Lies as smooth as silk.

You will not slink away, you crafted your own chains with your own hypocrisies...why, freedom's just another word for nothing left to loose. Right?

You wanted your neighbor's wife, now you've got the whore...or she's got you [grin].

You wanted everything, and you got it. Now everything has turned to shit, and you've still got it. Like it is said, “Be careful of what you ask for, you just might get it”.
But this is so much more than you bargained for—this nothing that remains.
Well, what the hell, “you can't take it with you”.
Shakespeare said, “Hell is empty and all of the devils are here”. Now he was writing a long long time ago. I guess people just got used to the devils being around. They were probably the popcorn vendors at the Globe Theater.

They say they can tell each other by secret handshakes.
