FWIW

For What It's Worth:

This "spoof" logo came from my group, the China Support Network, to be against the 2008 Olympics. (We launched a coalition and a rock song called 'Freedom First, Olympics Second.')

It seems like YouTube has crunched the song. (In my player, the thing stops at 2:18.) Therefore, here's another view. The first one was in New York, the second vid is in Boston.

  2. Nicesong and timing John. As the administration will look to milk the end of combat in Iraq, we know that empire will keep 100,000 troops and committee administrators there until god knows when.

Meanwhile Barry is droning the women and children in Pakistan as the HAARP floods their lands. The troop increases to protect CIA -Mujahideen poppy fields are in full swing and the borders to Yemen are active.

I used to love the Olympics in my twenties until 1980 when President Carter announced to the US Olympic Team that they would not participate in the 1980 Summer Games in Moscow as a boycott against Soviet intervention in Afghanistan.

We've come full circle but I have not watched the games since then. Between the corruption and hipocrisy since I have never regretted it.

  3. There ought to be an investigation as to whether an Olympics ALWAYS correlates with human rights abuse in the host country.

For that matter, I suppose that abuses ALWAYS accompany a G-20 summit, an RNC (Republican National Convention) and a DNC. And while ostensibly, one might expect that free world countries do better than unfree countries with these things, actually not. That's a stark indictment of the allegedly free world.

I would say that the Olympics should stay out of the unfree countries, but if they always correlate with human rights abuse no matter where they are, then the Olympics are merely a quadrennial crime against humanity and should be discontinued all together.

By the way, if you click the Boston link above, mid-song you will hear the voice of Jimmy Carter, announcing the Olympic boycott. It was my idea to insert that sound bite at that point in the song. :)

  4. That's so right. Hipocrisy personified and getting athletes who work hard and make it their life should never be used for political purposes though it is a tool from Berlin to Munich to Tiananmen Beijing, these productions are corrupt to the core by common heisters and morally deficients.

The problem was solved finally by ending any model free country. Now we can rise to the top of the heap by way of enabling the games to become the gladiator games of Rome. Soon we may have lion wrestling and Sumo death matches added to the Pentathalon.
