Afghanistan Contractors Outnumber U.S. Troops

Despite Surge in U.S. Deployments, More Civilians Are Posted in War Zone; Reliance Echoes the Controversy in Iraq

by August Cole

Even as U.S. troops surge to new highs in Afghanistan they are outnumbered by military contractors working alongside them, according to a Defense Department census due to be distributed to Congress -- illustrating how hard it is for the U.S. to wean itself from the large numbers of war-zone contractors that proved controversial in Iraq.

  1. While we continue to rape, pillage and destroy the way of life for the innocent people of Afghanistan, which is costing billions upon billions of dollars that has been borrowed mostly from China, these bastard corporations are reaping windfall profits!

Meanwhile, back here in the good ole U.S. of A. cities all across this once great country are beginning to crumble financially. Here in Philadelphia, Pa. the mayor is asking the state for an increase in the sales tax, otherwise he's threatened to layoff close to "eight-thousand city workers!" Including police and fireman, and the closing of our public libraries and recreation centers. Not to mention the funding for after school programs.

When the F' are the credulous and apathetic people going to awaken from the catatonic slumber, and fully understand the ramifications which these illegal and horrific wars of aggression are having on our country? Perhaps it is too late, and we've already crossed the Rubicon.

  2. Munich, I think the giant that is the american people is awakening and shaking off the apathy. WHy? Not because innocent people are dying. But because of those reasons you just stated. They are mad as hell that it's finally hitting them where it hurts.. in their wallets.

I will never understand how people can live in boxes like that. It's all about me me me. They have the attitude.. if it doesn't affect "me" personally, right here and right now, I don't care about it.

Well, the well planned out crash of the economy is affecting everyone now. So even though most don't have a clue as to just how bad things are they finally realize something wicked this way comes.

Maybe now they will understand the price we are paying to murder and maim and finally demand it stop.

Cindy Sheehan is on her way to Martha's Vineyard to protest Obama on his vacay as she did with Bush. Go Cindy!

  3. As I wrote often about the UCAV's and growing PDA's (private defense agencies) it is discussed now among the NATO/NWO that they can no longer expect enlistment for these Corporatist, false flag, orchestrated, pimp operations.

At some point the Xe's and robotic wars will take over. Until then they have no problem dispensing the lives of the men and women who serve under patriotism to do the dirty work of the Committees bidding as they do rounds of ammunition.

Just a another cost of business on a ledger sheet.

  4. Well then what's needed is for us to get a hold of every young kid we know that even THINKS about entering the military and educate them. I do it every time I hear someone I work with or a friend tell me their kid is thinking about signing up. Oddly these brainwashed people think it will help build the kid's character. That enrages me.

I say to them, do you know if that kid signs up, he will most definitely be sent to war in Iraq or Afghanistan? What kind of character building is derived from shooting and killing & bombing complete strangers? Then, if they are lucky enough to get out alive after many re-deployments to the war zone, chances are they will be either physically or mentally maimed for life.

    That usually shuts them up.

  5. One of the interesting features to private contractors usage by the federal government is that they use these private corporations to enrich themselves for one, like we have seen with Blackwater, but the real deal here is that this is how the feds get around having to follow their own laws.

Where the military has their hands tied in many ways, those private contractors can do as they please while the feds turn a blind eye so long as their goals are being accomplished.

This is why I think we are seeing a growing number and percentage of private contractors entering into these conflicts is because of money for one- tax dollars being funnelled into the pockets of government and former government employees and the fact they can do as they please as long as they can get away with it.

  6. Blackwater goons disarmed US troops in a WAR ZONE after they had an accident with the troops ramming a US hummer with their suburban. Treason is a hanging offence. If I had been general of the Army I would have strung them up toot sweet !
War is biznis and biznis is good.

  7. Maybe it's only a matter of time before an officer or unit calls in armor or an air-strike on these MERCENARY (not "contractor") "welfare queens."
