Reporting from Tehran -- Huge swaths of the capital erupted in fiery riots that stretched into the early morning Sunday as Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared victory in his quest for a second four-year term amid allegations of widespread fraud and a strident challenge of the vote results by his main challenger, who was reportedly placed under house arrest.
And some astounding video of Iranians protesting their recent elections. Many are quite displeased that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been re-elected.
Speaking as one who was an Observer in Ohio 2004, this makes Americans look like, well Democratic cowards.
ReplyDeleteHell, I should post my live report from Ohio.
Again, let's try to put this into perspective. All of this hype about stolen elections is coming mainly from the same websites that we talked about before in the Burson-Marsteller article.
ReplyDeleteThe desired result is to get us "progressives" to support another "regime change" based on the "stolen election" and the supposed attempts to develop nukes.
Look into the other candidate and you will start to understand...
He was ousted before under suspicion of massive corruption. He is one of the wealthist men in the world. His intention is to open up the "free-markets", privatize most nationalized industry including OIL, open the borders to unrestricted free-trade.... and bring in a private central banking system.
That is what they voted against.
We are hearing stories being FED to the "progressive" blogs supposedly from the inside of Iran. One article that I read from the Washington Post though (a conservative paper that SHOULD be trying to sell the "regime change/stolen election" fraud) quoted a woman from Goerge Masons' Internation school of some sort and she was saying that all these reports are coming from one area of the capital, and area where the opposition had a lot of support.
Fact is, many Iranians see this guy as a goat for the Western forces that want to get in and get control of the oil. Another Shaw, if you will.
I would just be very careful helping Burson-Marsteller spin us into supporting another war. Remember one service they advertise on their site is "event perception" where they help "spin" historic events, in the blogs, to suit whatever end the client wants. And in this case, it seems pretty obvious who their clients are and what they want.
Question is, are we ALL going to buy it?
Scott excellent point. No doubt our agents of death & destruction are on the ground there stirring things up & helping rig those elections as well. They NEED Ahmadinejad (sp?) to play the bad guy to "catupult the propganda"..to quote another amazing american mind ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, the people want him gone and are out there honestly protesting. But as Scott points out, what better reason to invade Iran and take him out than on the premise of saving those poor honest, brave Iranians from the clutches of the election rigging madman?
Yes, indeed, I smell an all American MIC rat here as well as seeing an honest protest by the people of Iran.
Look at the numbers; the largest turnout in their election history, I think something like 75% of the electorate actually cast votes. they left the pols open longer because of the turnout. 35% or so voted for the other guy. So that means you are certainly going to have some people who are upset about the election.
ReplyDeleteWhat you have going on in this country, is the "progressive" blogs are being fed from "Farsi" sites, but many blogs don't say which ones, these stories of election fraud.
The regime change "pro-democracy" groups in Iran run by the neo-con/neo-lib think tanks in the US have been running propaganda sites in Iran for years. So, these stories are more than likely coming straight out of BM, to the think-tank shill "farsi sites" then back to the progressive sites like Kos and even OpEd News...
All this is going to do is prop up a populist support for regime change in Iran.
no not chemtrails just the words --i dont care or coward--------dont forget to watch FREE SPEACH TV --ON DISH NEWORK FOLKS---IF YA GOT DIRECT TV--CANCLE AND GO TO DISH NETWORK THEY HAVE IT--
ReplyDeleteTime Machine... another great book I loved that I should read again. Personally Munich, I think it's a combination of what you mention... the fluoride, chemtrails, frakenfood & daily conditioning through the teevee that's causing the lethargy.
ReplyDeleteHow in the hell is it that coto and others like us are immune and managed to keep our ability to think critically? Though I must say, everyone is always saying how tired they are and I am too. So, all of it is having an effect on me physically.
Speaking of the Time Machine, I wonder if due to the above, we will be driven to eventually live underground like the Morlocks? That is if the entire planet isn't destroyed first.
I'd say that Willy's thinking in the right direction. It makes sense to consider interpretations other than the straight-out electoral fraud which has become so familiar in the US.
ReplyDeleteWhat if the high voter turnout and the popular accusations of electoral fraud in Iran are CIA-engineered phenomena designed to provide a justification for a military strike against Iran - a war to restore/impose democracy, for example. After all, that became the official justification for Dubya's war in Iraq after he could no longer claim that Saddam's government possessed nuclear weapons prohibited under the NPT.
